The income tax department on Thursday (November 8) sent the preliminary report of the Mumbai leg of the investigation into irregularities in the funding of BJP President Nitin Gadkari's Purti. Sources say dept found some of the companies registered in Mumbai turned out to be fake. Also in the field surveys the dept could not even find the book of accounts.
