00:00A hamster love story by Hans Wilhelm
00:07Jutta was the sweetest hamster girl far and wide.
00:13Everyone especially liked her and Tommy.
00:16And Jutta was also really in love with the shy hamster boy.
00:19But neither of them told each other.
00:24Jutta became sick from love.
00:26So sick that she had to stay in bed.
00:28The longer she lay there, the sicker and sadder she became.
00:33She had no idea that Tommy liked her as much as she liked him.
00:39Everyone tried to cheer her up.
00:42First, Aunt Goldi and Aunt Pummel brought hazelnuts and sugar.
00:46But it didn't help.
00:48Grandma Chubby-cheeked helpfully offered her fig tea.
00:51It was almost as horrible as Grandpa Scratchbeard's harmonica concert.
00:55Even Uncle Bille, the family's joker, tried hard to cheer Jutta up, but to no avail.
01:05Jutta became increasingly sad because of her heartbreak.
01:07Chief Forester Stupid Nose imitated many animal sounds and made such horrible faces that Jutta only crawled deeper under the covers.
01:19And when postman Schmuse Bauch came up with funny ideas, she even pulled the pillow over both of her hamster ears.
01:25Finally, Pastor Stummelschwanz came by to perform her famous Kille-Kille.
01:34But her ice-cold paws only made Jutta shiver.
01:37Nobody knew the cause of Jutta’s illness.
01:40And so no one could help her.
01:41Tommy had watched everything through the window.
01:48He knew that Jutta was very sick.
01:50Oh, I want Jutta to get well soon.
01:54I love her so much, he sighed.
01:56If only I could do something.
01:58Finally, he had a great idea.
02:01It wasn't anything special, but it was worth a try.
02:04He picked the most beautiful cornflower he could find and went to Jutta.
02:12He knocked carefully.
02:14Dear Jutta, may I show you something?
02:16he asked shyly.
02:18When Jutta heard Tommy's voice, she came out from under the blanket and asked.
02:23What do you want to show me?
02:26First, Tommy gave her the cornflower, but then he took something else out of his thick cheek pouches.
02:34His beloved juggling balls, which he immediately threw into the air.
02:39He threw them higher and faster.
02:41Soon they looked like shining stars.
02:43None fell to the ground.
02:45He could have juggled like that for Jutta forever, he was so in love.
02:49But then he heard a loud laugh.
02:54It was Jutta.
02:56She laughed and laughed and didn't want to stop.
02:59Tommy was so scared that he dropped all the balls.
03:02Now she's laughing at me.
03:03Oh, I shouldn't have come, he thought, and would have liked to sink into the ground in shame.
03:12But then Jutta jumped out of bed and gave Tommy a big kiss.
03:16I love you so much, she cried, but I didn't know if you loved me back.
03:21That made me really sick.
03:23Then Jutta said, but only someone in love can juggle as wonderfully as you just juggled for me.
03:29Oh, I have never been so happy and healthy in my entire life.
03:37From now on, the two were inseparable.
03:39They played and juggled every day until the moon was in the sky.
