00:04Welcome back to the Hemp Cabin or THC for short. If you're new here, I'm Scarlett and we're a group
00:10of magical cannabis enthusiasts of legal age using legal products. Our meeting videos are
00:17more informational and our rituals videos are demonstrations and explanations of various ritual
00:23spells and potions that correspond with things like moon faces and holidays. If you prefer not
00:32smoking, that's fine. I recommend doing your favorite breathing exercise or just taking a
00:36few deep breaths instead. If you want to join the Hemp Cabin, welcome. All you have to do is use
00:44the
00:44Reddit link in the description to request to join our subreddit. You must request to join because you
00:51must be 21 years or older to join THC. I'm trying to make sure this hair doesn't like hit the
00:58mic.
01:00Struggle. Okay. In order to begin our meeting, we must first cast a circle. There are many ways to do
01:09so, but what I like to do for our videos is imagine a sphere around me, take a hit, and
01:15then imagine
01:15that sphere filling up with my smoke, cleansing and protecting me. And then we will invite the entities
01:21that we want to join us. So feel free to do this with me and invite whatever entities and deities
01:28you want.
01:44The spirit of cannabis, I invoke you. Hermes, god of messages and language, I invoke you.
01:52The spirit of cannabis, I invoke you. Hermes, god of messages and language, I invoke you.
02:14For this week's meeting, we will be discussing the powers of names and words. I'm in a local coven
02:22that follows the book Missing Witches through the Wheel of the Year. The most recent section that we
02:30discussed was, of course, Mabon. And that section of the book emphasizes the power of names.
02:39So I thought it would be a good topic for this week's meeting. Names have power both legally and
02:47magically. For things like formal documents and purchases, we sign our names as proof of our
02:55identity and approval. In some cultures, people call each other by their first names as a way of showing
03:03that you are on the same level or that you are familiar with someone. In some cultures, people call
03:11each other by their last names as a sign of respect and formality. Sometimes people call each other by
03:19nicknames as well. What is the power within a name? Well, there are a few. In magic, using a name
03:29can be
03:29a powerful form of binding or summoning. As magical people, we speak the names of deities and entities that
03:38we want to work with when we are ready to begin our work like I do at the beginning of
03:44our videos.
03:46Some people refuse to speak a name to avoid gaining the attention of a specific being. For example,
03:53in ancient Greece, most people would not speak Hades' name out of fear of attracting his attention.
04:00Of course, Hades doesn't usually kill people, so that one is a bit misguided, but the fear of death was
04:10that strong and still is for many people. Jesus cults emphasize the powers of the names Jesus and Devil,
04:21but they don't often use the name of their main god. Many don't even know that their god has a
04:29name other
04:30than just God. Many people use names that their parents or guardians give them. Some people change
04:38their legal names. Nowadays, most people have at least one screen name as well. Screen names are fun because
04:47they can be anything you want. It doesn't have to be a name. It doesn't have to make sense. It
04:54doesn't even
04:54have to be words. Your screen name is attached to every post, comment, message, like, and share that you make.
05:04Any content that you create online is digitally signed with your screen name. As magical people, we have
05:13further opportunities to select our names. Some just use their given names and that's fine. Some people like
05:21to select a name to be used within their communities. Some select a sacred name. A sacred name is the
05:30name
05:31that you use for your individual practice. This name is only used while you are practicing your craft and it
05:40is
05:40not told to anyone except for the entities and deities that you work with. In witchcraft, signing your name
05:49to your work will strengthen your magic and your binding to it. This can be as simple as writing your
05:57name in your grimoire or on a piece of paper that you're using for a spell or ritual or on
06:04your magical
06:05tools. Signing your name to your craft is a great way to acknowledge your own accomplishments.
06:13You cast that spell. You made that potion. You did that manifestation. Be proud of your work,
06:21even if it doesn't turn out how you intended, because you are learning and growing and that in
06:28itself is worthy of pride. If you decide that you want to choose a sacred name or a name that
06:34you want
06:34to use publicly, there are many things to consider. Sometimes the name just comes to you. Sometimes you
06:43have to work with your guides, deities, or entities to come up with a name together. If you're unsure of
06:51where to start, maybe start with your favorite characters, your favorite witches, or the deities
06:58and entities that you are closest to. As a writer who is not great with making up names, I've often
07:06found it helpful to search online for websites that either generate a name or give a list of names with
07:16their meanings. Sometimes I like to choose characters' names based on the meanings of the names and that
07:24can be really helpful in choosing your own name as well. For example, the name Scarlet started as the
07:33Scarlet Alchemist, which is a name that I originally chose for posting my cosplay online. I got the name
07:42from my two favorite anime and manga series at the time. So the Alchemist part, of course, comes from
07:51my favorite manga and anime, Fullmetal Alchemist. Of course, my favorite of the two animes is Fullmetal
07:58Alchemist Brotherhood, but I digress. The Scarlet part actually came from the manga and anime Fairy Tale.
08:09And one of the main characters in Fairy Tale is named Urza Scarlet. So that's where the Scarlet came
08:20from. Now the name Scarlet has essentially become my public name. I still use my real name, but which
08:28name I use really just depends on the circumstances and the situation. A name can be used as a way
08:36to
08:37bind. Whether you're binding another person or yourself, adding the name of the intended target
08:43will strengthen that bind, leaving no room for it to bind the wrong person.
08:51There are many ways to bind people, but to make it as strong as possible, it's best to add their
08:57names
08:57and, if possible, pictures. The more specific you are about who you're binding, the more successful
09:05it will be. Much like names, words can carry heavy weights. A single word can have several meanings
09:15depending on how it's said, the intentions behind it, the context, and how it is perceived.
09:23An insult isn't an insult until it's said with the intention to inflict verbal damage. A joke lands
09:34differently with different audiences. A few short words could turn a command into a polite question.
09:42In our ritual videos, I often say whatever magic words come to you because sometimes when you're performing
09:52acts of magic, your intention tells you what to say or do. Following that intention in the moment
10:02instead of planning it out in advance can make the magic stronger. Words can aid in destruction,
10:11creation, creation, and observation. If you've seen The Devil Wears Prado, you've seen how someone can
10:18completely destroy another with a few dismissive words. Writers use words to create or describe
10:29entire worlds. Stories are often told through words. Most people communicate through words in some form.
10:39Even animals who aren't human can sometimes understand human words. Most importantly,
10:47words are a key component in spells and rituals. Spells are merely words with intention and magical action.
10:58Words are where we begin and often where we end. We primarily learn through words. We often think in words.
11:08words we seek messages which we turn into words to understand them. We speak
11:16words over what we cook or bake to turn them into potions. We speak or write the words. We tear
11:25the words.
11:26words we burn the words. We burn the words. We submerge the words. We seal the words in containers.
11:34We bury the words. We state the words loud, proud, and clear. We chant the words. We pray the words.
11:43words we whisper the words. We whisper the words. We shout the words into the night sky.
11:49We read the words. We speak the words together. Our intentions are presented in words.
11:59Rituals often use words to signify the various steps, invite deities and entities, state intentions,
12:07and to wield the power of voice. Words inform participants on how to do their part in the ritual and
12:16what it all means. Words can align a coven's focus on a single act of magic. Words can help us
12:26raise
12:26our voices. Words have been part of witchcraft since ancient times. Each word has a purpose. Each voice
12:35holds power. Words bring us closer together. Words help us understand each other. A coven is a safe space
12:45for magical people where all voices are heard. Members can share knowledge and experiences. And members use
12:55their words and magic to help and support each other. For the hemp coven specifically, I encourage
13:03interaction in the comments, but the subreddit is the main hub where every member can post about their
13:12magical practice and learn from each other. There are a lot of different post flare options, so please
13:20explore them. That's all that I have for this meeting. Let me know your questions and insights in the comments
13:27and in our subreddit. Now let's dissolve our circle and thank the entities that joined us.
13:38Thank you, Spirit of Cannabis. Thank you, Hermes. Thank you, Hecate. Thank you, Eris. I treasure our time
13:47together and look forward to our next encounter.
14:03Thank you so much for watching this video. If you liked it, please follow, like, comment, and share.
14:10If you want to join the hemp coven, all you have to do is use the reddit link in the
14:14description
14:15to request to join our subreddit. You must request to join because you must be 21 years or older to
14:21join THC.
14:22If you want more content from me, the description has links to my Patreon and Instagram. Patrons get
14:29bonus content and access to a private discord. If you're looking for a high quality vape, hot knife, torch,
14:38or electric grinder, or electric grinder, the description has my link to Yocan. They make vapes for
14:44cartridges, dry herb, and concentrates. I have the Orbit 2.0. It is a concentrate vape and I
14:51fucking love this. I named her Pam after Poison Ivy because I got her in green and I got a
14:59purple cap
15:01for it, but it's so nice. And I really love the design. It's such a brilliant design. So definitely
15:10check that out. The link to Yocan's in the description. If you missed our previous videos,
15:16the description has links to our daily motion playlist and my YouTube channel. My YouTube
15:22channel has our old videos. However, they blocked me from posting and they have started taking down
15:28those videos because they suddenly decided that you can no longer use the word hemp in video titles.
15:34I changed all of the remaining video titles to say the H Coven. So hopefully that will prevent them from
15:44being taken down.
15:46But you might want to just go ahead and check those out as soon as you can, just to be
15:53sure. I do not have that
15:55footage backed up anywhere because that would just require so much storage.
16:03And I do have these scripts so I can revisit those topics at a later date. Again, thank you so
16:12much for
16:13watching. Stay spooky and magical and I will see you in the comments and in our subreddit.
