Footage recorded on December 29, 2016, shows a U.S. Air Force (USAF) KC-10A Extender aerial refueling tanker refueling another aircraft of the same type during a mission over Iraq. The operation was conducted in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, the U.S.-led military campaign against the Islamic State (ISIS) in Iraq and Syria. Developed from the McDonnell Douglas DC-10 commercial airliner, the KC-10A Extender served the U.S. Air Force in aerial refueling and strategic airlift missions until its retirement in September 2024.
