Sage Blackwell, a hidden master who controls the fortunes of powerful families, enters the mortal world to honor his late disciple's final wish. Disguised as a live-in son-in-law, he protects the Neill family from disaster for three years, only to be mocked and treated like a servant. When his term ends, he quietly walks away. Without his protection, the Neills' luck collapses overnight. Too late, his ex-wife realizes the truth and begs him to return.
