Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone has offered to make a 75 million euro payment to end his trial on bribery charges in Germany.
State prosecutors in Munich have told the court they would accept an offer on account of his old age and other circumstances.
The state court has yet to approve the deal.
German law permits judges, prosecutors and the defence to agree to either dismiss a case or settle it with a light punishment. However, terms for this are strictly defined.

The British billionaire could have faced up to ten years in prison.
