00:14These schools seem pretty action-packed, even by grown-up standards.
00:18Welcome to WatchMojo.com, and today we're counting down our picks for the top 10 fictional schools in TV.
00:24For this list, we're taking a look at those memorable television schools that were full of drama, had wacky teachers,
00:31or that we just wish we could have attended.
00:33Because, when it comes down to it, you never grow out of the school spectacle, you just grow older.
00:39Next question is a 25-point toss-up. First one to answer it.
00:43Okay, who were the stars of the musical movie Footlight Parade?
00:49Oh! Oh! Oh, me! Oh, please me! Oh!
00:54Number 10, James Buchanan High, Welcome Back, Cotter.
00:58Well, Mr. Cotter, if Vinny did not do his homework, then the chances is very great that I didn't do
01:09my homework.
01:11There's always a group of ne'er-do-wells at any given school that needs some extra attention.
01:15In this case, the band of delinquents was called the Sweathogs, because their remedial classes were held in the sweltering
01:22top floor of James Buchanan High.
01:25I can't take it. I just can't take it. I can't take it.
01:31And, they happen to be the most compelling and interesting students in the entire Brooklyn-based school.
01:37At least according to viewers, and their quick-to-make-a-joke teacher.
01:40Yeah, if we all lived forever, you know what that would mean?
01:44Yeah, it would mean you guys would spend 200 years in your 11th grade.
01:49A graduate of the school himself, Mr. Cotter worked hard to keep his students engaged, because, like any good sitcom
01:55teach, he believed in them.
01:57I searched here, and I searched there. I'm searching for my Shanghai Lil.
02:03He's searching for his Shanghai Lil.
02:07Boys make way for Shanghai Lil!
02:14Number 9. Walkerville Elementary School, The Magic School Bus.
02:18Miss Frizzle, are you alright?
02:21Well, as I always say, there's nothing like starting out the day with a bang.
02:26Funding for their school district must have been incredible, considering the children here had access to a literal magic school
02:32bus that could transport them almost anywhere to teach them science.
02:36My class already studied the solar system.
02:39I bet your class didn't learn about the aliens that live on the planets.
02:43Their field trips were epic, and we can only hope they retained the information into adulthood.
02:48Especially the lessons about the digestive system, as they were particularly enlightening.
02:53In a moment, we will have live footage.
02:56See anything yet?
02:59Whoa!
03:01With Miss Frizzle as their guide, this class full of ethnically diverse, politically correct children, doesn't actually spend much time
03:07in school.
03:08But they sure learned a lot.
03:10As I always say class, you're out of this world.
03:18Number 8, Lincoln Junior High, The Wonder Years.
03:21As we approached those doors for the first time, we felt we were approaching the portals of manhood.
03:27Growing up next to the girl of your dreams can be a source of great joy and great despair.
03:32Particularly when she moves away and attends a new school.
03:35I just think it's wrong, that's all.
03:38In this case, this new school is Lincoln Junior High.
03:41And it's the source of a lot of adolescent strife.
03:44Especially considering Winnie meets her new boyfriend there.
03:46I came looking for you when they told me you were with Eric.
03:48When I found you, you were kissing him.
03:54The school represents Kevin and Winnie growing apart.
03:57And it's a symbol of them transitioning, ungraciously, into their teen years.
04:01Funny.
04:11I don't want it to end.
04:13Number 7, Neptune High, Veronica Mars.
04:17Carrie Bishop, suck it to me baby!
04:22The answer is, I'm not pregnant.
04:24So you can quit dodging my calls and keep your money to take care of it.
04:28And while we're at it, you should key back.
04:31I won't be needing it anymore.
04:34Located in the beautiful coastal town of Neptune, California, this school is pretty active.
04:39And not in the bake sale and spirit week sense.
04:42It's kinda amazing.
04:42We're talking more in the, hey did you know that the school principal had a baby with one of the
04:47students since.
04:47Do you know when I told Mr. Rooks I was pregnant and he gave me $500 and told me I
04:51should go take care of it.
04:52And we haven't even mentioned the secret society stuff.
04:55Otherwise, it seems like a pretty normal high school for a budding teenage detective to attend.
05:00Since it's got all sorts of shenanigans and hijinks to keep track of.
05:04There you go kid.
05:06There's life lesson number one.
05:08What goes around comes around.
05:10Number 6, Degrassi High, The Degrassi Franchise.
05:14Um, Stephanie, what are you doing?
05:19This is grade 8 right?
05:21We're supposed to be more mature.
05:23So I'm gonna start dressing more mature.
05:26This school is teeming with drama.
05:28Especially for a Canadian high school.
05:39Get out of here!
05:40From multiple teen pregnancies, to school shootings, to STDs, to bullying.
05:45If there's an issue involving teens grades 9 through 12, it's probably made an appearance within this school's halls.
05:51To top it off, it seems like the adults who attended the school just never want to leave.
05:56Except for wheelchair Jimmy.
05:57He seems to have made it out just fine.
06:00I love your wealth of knowledge and I love you.
06:04I'm glad you think this is funny.
06:06Number 5, West Beverly Hills High School.
06:08Beverly Hills 90210.
06:11Mom, let's go shopping today and I'll go to school tomorrow.
06:13First impressions are incredibly important.
06:15For me, you can make a wonderful first impression.
06:17Aside from having teenagers that looked like they should be teaching instead of attending,
06:22this school was also rich kids central.
06:24I think we're gonna need a raise in our allowance.
06:27Yeah.
06:27Yeah.
06:28You know what happens when you follow a bunch of wealthy teenagers through their formative years.
06:33You begin to dislike rich teens intensely.
06:35To be a bitch or not to be a bitch, that is the question.
06:39West Beverly High served as a backdrop to some major teenage drama.
06:42With popularity contests and love triangles taking center stage.
06:48You know, all school year, I listened to you rattling on and on about your feelings for my brother.
06:55This has nothing to do with Brandon.
06:57You're right.
06:58It has to do with you and me.
07:00And between all that, we're wondering how any of these kids got any learning done at all.
07:06I cannot believe we did it. I mean, we got away from them all.
07:11Number 4. Sunnydale High School, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
07:16Welcome to Sunnydale. A clean slate, Buffy. That's what you get here. What's past is past.
07:21No one could ever accuse the teens of Sunnydale High of being lazy.
07:25At least, not the ones fighting to keep the entire town from being overrun by the forces of evil.
07:30You're not going to kill me with that thing.
07:32There'll be for sure.
07:33And while most high schools are renowned for their academics or athletic records,
07:38this quaint California educational facility happens to be situated on a portal to another dimension.
07:44An evil dimension.
07:45A hellmouth, if you will.
07:47Found right under the school's library.
07:50Top that, rival high school.
07:51Look at them.
07:53Throwing themselves about.
07:54Completely unaware of the danger that surrounds them.
07:57Back to the home.
07:58Number 3.
07:59Greendale Community College, Community.
08:02The most important tool is respect.
08:05Ha! Gay!
08:08Community colleges don't get enough shine.
08:11And this community college in particular seems pretty awesome.
08:14Totally!
08:15If nothing else, it hosts some interesting students and faculty.
08:19And faculty-turned-students.
08:21You're not even a student!
08:22Wrong!
08:23Critical media literacy and politics of gender, biatch!
08:27With fields of study and student activities ranging from the normal to the wacky,
08:31this Colorado school sees endless adventures in rivalries, contests and reconciliations on its campus.
08:37Shouldn't we be barricading the room?
08:39I don't know.
08:40These guys don't seem...
08:41I will help you.
08:42Plus, it seems like a place where some amazing friendships are forged.
08:46Needless to say, we'd like to enroll.
08:48I guess, as we were driving away, I finally started living in the moment.
08:52And I realized that, in the moment, Greendale is where I belong.
08:57Number 2.
08:58Bayside High School, Saved by the Bell.
09:00Dad, this may come as a shock to you, but education is more than just french fries and tuna melts.
09:06That's right, Jessie. You forgot cheeseburgers.
09:09You know a high school's really awesome when the students have most of their life experiences within its halls.
09:14I care about the student body.
09:16I care about a student body, too.
09:19Furs.
09:19Bayside apparently had a bunch of students, but we were clearly only supposed to care about six of them.
09:25All of whom fit into some sort of stereotype.
09:27Whether it was the jock, the brain, the cheerleader, the nerd, the shopaholic, or the cool guy.
09:33I'm Kelly, who are you?
09:34Whoever you want me to be.
09:36And don't forget their principal.
09:37Mr. Belding always seemed to care just a little too much about what Zach, Kelly, Slater, Jessie, Lisa, and Screech
09:44were up to.
09:45Mirror, mirror on the wall.
09:49Who's the buffest principal of all?
09:52You are, you stud muffin youth.
09:55Before we enroll at our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
10:00I knew it was you all along.
10:01What's the big lesson?
10:02What were you trying to teach us?
10:09Oh my gosh!
10:10They killed Feeny!
10:11Yeah!
10:13Look, I mean, you know they're gonna play disco.
10:16Right?
10:17Disco sucks.
10:17I hate disco.
10:22These guys, they tried to pick them up.
10:24It was totally wicked, am I right?
10:25And the cops came.
10:26I'm telling you.
10:28We had a time.
10:29Didn't we?
10:29Didn't we have a time?
10:36He's pulling your chain, man.
10:39Don't you get it?
10:39They don't go to dances because they're nerds.
10:43That's all.
10:44This is a room full of freaks.
10:46And I speak for each and every coach, player, and trainer up here.
10:51We all feel honored.
10:53And we feel fully prepared to represent this beloved community this Friday night and every Friday night.
11:01Number one.
11:02Springfield Elementary School.
11:04The Simpsons.
11:05Knocking on a turn.
11:06That's a paddling.
11:08Looking out the window.
11:10That's a paddling.
11:12Staring at my sandals.
11:14That's a paddling.
11:16Paddling the school canoe.
11:18Oh, you better believe that's a paddling.
11:21Mmm.
11:22While the school does seem to have a few bad apples in its midst, we can't say the teachers, bus
11:27drivers, groundskeeper, cafeteria lady, or even the principal are much better.
11:32Munch Lady Doris.
11:33Have you got any grease?
11:34Yes.
11:35Yes, we do.
11:36Then grease me up, woman.
11:38Okie dokie.
11:39It's a lot of fun to watch the antics of the students, particularly Bart Simpson, as he pushes the limits
11:44of adult patients at Springfield Elementary.
11:48Seems to be caught.
11:50Between these two flowers.
11:54But it's even more fun to witness the teachers struggle to retain their sense of sanity while working in a
12:00grossly underfunded school.
12:02Why is a cafeteria worker posing as a nurse?
12:05I get two paychecks this way.
12:07And facing kids who are either too smart, too dumb, or just too bad to the bone.
12:12Fools.
12:21Oops.
12:22Still on.
12:23Do you agree with our list?

12:32You guys are all dead, man! Really dead!
12:44I haven't Believered.
12:47That was my first time I thought to be home.
12:48I was only there for you.
12:49I thought to be a woman's restart and nervously near you.
