00:02 - Let's talk about competition.
00:07 You, us here, we are in an extremely competitive business.
00:12 - Yes, we are.
00:12 - How do you compete?
00:14 - You know, that's actually hard, especially if
00:16 you'll see a lot of people who are really good around you.
00:21 I learned my own way when I was part of a group
00:25 called Sessionistas.
00:26 And of course, you're all contemporaries here.
00:29 We have Juris, Nina, I mean, these are all,
00:31 City, all amazing singers and musicians.
00:35 And I'm like, how can I stand out
00:38 if they're all good, right?
00:40 And then I realized,
00:41 we all have something to give each other
00:45 that we can't give to each other.
00:47 Because even, let's say, Juris and I,
00:49 we have the same voice, the same timbre, the same coldness.
00:52 There are things that Juris can give that I can't give.
00:55 But there are things that I can give.
00:58 And that is uniquely mine because
00:59 what is uniquely mine is my story, my journey.
01:03 That's where the fire of how I sing comes from.
01:08 So same with Juris.
01:10 So I think that's when I realized,
01:12 hey, I can't compete.
01:14 I can just be me because I will always stand out
01:17 because we all have different things to give each other.
01:20 - That's beautiful.
01:21 And that's the way you compete,
01:22 without having to say, I'm competing,
01:24 because you stay true to your core, to your truth.
01:26 - Yeah, and I just have to do good.
01:28 - Correct.
01:29 - Oh.
