00:00 Scientists have been able to pinpoint what are the two best exercises for lowering blood
00:05 pressure.
00:06 It's already been said that aerobic and cardio exercises are best.
00:10 But this time, a study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine has targeted wall
00:14 squats and planks as the two best exercises to lower blood pressure, reports CNN.
00:21 These kinds of exercises that don't involve movement are known as isometric or static,
00:26 according to the Mayo Clinic.
00:28 The study's co-author said, "Overall, isometric exercise training is the most effective mode
00:34 in reducing both systolic and diastolic blood pressure."
00:38 Running and cycling have been at the top of the list for exercises helpful to reduce blood
00:43 pressure, but researchers felt the guidelines were outdated and in need of review.
00:47 Ultimately, the conclusion was that among HIIT, isometric exercise, aerobic exercise,
00:53 dynamic resistance training, and a combination of the latter two, isometric exercise led
00:58 to the greatest reductions in blood pressure.
