00:00 The House Committee is also working with various other parties to improve the well-being of teachers and students in the country
00:08 while the priority of the government is to improve the budget for the education sector.
00:15 Mela Lesmoras has more.
00:17 As the enrollment and the number of schools in the country started,
00:23 the House Committee on Basic Education and Culture discussed one by one the steps in the House Committee on Basic Education and Culture
00:30 that are helping the well-being of teachers and students in the Philippines.
00:34 The House Resolution No. 1059, which is requested by the Department of Education,
00:40 which is to build and implement guidelines on proper emergency transfer of some students affected by calamities
00:47 and some guidelines on providing assistance not only to students but also to teachers in the country.
00:54 Through the guidelines, the typhoons that hit the Philippines should help the government
01:01 so that the students affected by calamities that need to be transferred to schools will not have a hard time.
01:09 The House Resolution was already approved by the committee.
01:14 The challenge I understand for many of our learners is that when they transfer schools because of calamities or man-made disasters,
01:25 when they transfer to another school, they are required by that new school to provide numerous documents.
01:34 And it is the understanding of the parents and of the learner that when they transfer, it should be automatic
01:40 because there is already a learner reference number, there is an LIS.
01:43 This week, the Deliberation for the 2024 National Budget was already started by the Camera.
01:50 First, Budget Secretary Amina assured that following the Constitution,
01:54 the Education Sector will remain a priority in the National Funds Proposal, which has an allocation of P924.7 billion.
02:03 She also said that the Government Funds will provide subsidies for students, facilities and equipment for schools,
02:13 and other programs for the nutrition and future of students.
02:18 The lawmakers are firmly believing that the people's right to their work and activities is paramount.
02:28 Melales Moras for the nation.
