00:00 Healthy Saturday morning once again to all of you,
00:04 we will share with you some tips for your health while you are having breakfast.
00:09 We will bring it here to Pinoy MD.
00:12 So here we go, let's start the morning with the answers to your questions.
00:17 Of course, we have our resident obstetrician gynecologist, Doc Q.
00:21 Good morning to you, Doc Q.
00:23 Good morning, if I may call it, good morning to all of our guests here today.
00:28 First question, Doc Q, can I drink pills if I have lupus?
00:32 That question is from Nicole Mikla.
00:35 If you have lupus, Nicole, especially if your lupus is active,
00:39 you cannot take pills but there are many other options for you to have protection against pregnancy.
00:46 The most ideal method for you is copper IUD.
00:49 So, consult with your obstetrician to discuss what are the benefits of copper IUD for those who have lupus.
00:57 And for our next FB question, she is already 50 years old but she still has period?
01:02 Is this normal?
01:04 If she started her period when she was just 13 years old, that is the question from Betty Bartolata Igles.
01:12 That is still normal Betty because the age of menopause is 50 to 55 years old.
01:17 However, if you are over 55 years of age and you are still having period,
01:22 that is not normal anymore, you need to consult with your doctor.
01:25 Meanwhile, next question for Dr. Q,
01:28 Doc, can a pregnant woman be vaccinated against hepatitis and typhoid?
01:33 The question is from Kay Leguar Onaries.
01:37 If you are asking if this is hepatitis A,
01:40 Kay, this is only given if you really need to be given.
01:44 So, we weigh the benefits and risks of giving these vaccinations.
01:48 Typhoid fever should not be given during pregnancy but if you are high risk, you can give it.
01:54 But you need to monitor it during pregnancy.
01:57 And for our last FB question,
01:59 Doc, why is her menstruation irregular for 7 years and her heart is often aching?
02:07 That question is from Susan De La Cruz.
02:11 I would like to know Susan, what is your age and your body build?
02:15 Because usually during the reproductive age, the reason for irregular menstruation is hormonal imbalance.
02:21 So, if you are a bit overweight or obese,
02:25 you have more estrogen than progesterone, your menstruation becomes irregular.
02:31 So, this can be hormonal only or there are other reasons like your matrices or ovaries
02:38 that need to be examined by your obstetrician-gynecologist.
02:42 Thank you so much Dr. Q and thank you to those who sent their questions.
02:47 And please keep sending those questions, Kapuso, to our FB page.
02:51 And of course, we will try to answer all of your questions.
