00:00 NGO SOS Mediterranean carries out its biggest rescue mission in its history off the Mediterranean
00:05 Sea as migrant crossings show no signs of stopping.
00:14 Ocean Viking, the rescue vessel of SOS Mediterranean has completed the largest operation in its
00:19 history, picking up more than 600 migrants in 15 separate cases in the course of 48 hours.
00:26 Most operations took place off the coast of Tunisia. According to the NGO, there are 146
00:32 unaccompanied minors and 462 adults. Those making the journey are from Sudan, Guinea,
00:37 Burkina Faso, the Ivory Coast, Benin and Bangladesh. The ship berthed temporarily at Lampedusa,
00:44 later it will pass to Città Vita Vecchia, assigned by Italian authorities. In separate
00:49 cases the Greek coastguard has rescued dozens of migrants travelling in a small overcrowded
00:53 sailboat. Those rescued were transferred to a patrol boat before being transported to

01:12 A shelter here in Maui, Hawaii has been considered home for many over the past few days as wildfires
01:18 swept through the island. Aid and food are distributed here for people who have lost
01:23 virtually everything. Some wait anxiously to hear news of missing friends and relatives.
01:27 At least 4,500 people have lost their homes. For residents, rebuilding their lives and
01:33 homes is unthinkable right now.
01:36 We lost everything. Thank God that we still have each other and we're all alive and safe
01:42 and accounted for. It's like we're the only things we have now because everything that
01:46 we had in the past is gone.
01:50 On top of the emotional turmoil, material losses are huge. Early estimated costs of
01:55 rebuilding stand at 5.5 billion US dollars or 6 billion euros, making the wildfires among
02:01 the worst disaster in the state's history and the deadliest. More than 90 people have
02:06 died in the wildfires and authorities expect that number to rise.
02:14 Poland deploys more troops at the border with Belarus, launching Operation Ringraf. Several
02:20 thousand border guards and army soldiers will train and learn to coordinate their efforts
02:24 in order to prevent any kind of possible provocation from the Belarusian side, especially with
02:29 Wagner troops based in the country.
02:31 There is no doubt that the Belarusian regime cooperates with the Kremlin, that this action
02:38 is aimed at Poland to destabilize our country.
02:43 Poland is not the only country concerned. Lithuania declared it will close two crossing
02:48 points with Belarus by August 18th. The idea to close some border points was floated earlier
02:54 this month for fear of various cross-border hybrid attacks.
02:59 For its part, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko says Minsk wants to sit down with
03:05 Warsaw as Belarus "must not lose relations with the high-tech EU countries, including
03:10 Poland."

03:39 these attacks on civilian infrastructure.
03:43 A spokesperson for the ministry stated in a video released on Saturday that the Russian
03:47 military on Friday carried out a group strike on a military airfield in Ukraine.
03:54 Kiev officials neither confirmed nor denied Ukraine's involvement in the attacks on Crimea.

04:05 fronts according to a report from the Ukrainian General Staff.
