00:00 The so-called "Ghost Month" has already started.
00:03 Some are already setting aside their plans for business, occasion, or relationship
00:09 because of the bad luck it brings.
00:11 But what is the Ghost Month?
00:14 Let's find out in Nayomi Tiburcio's story.
00:16 Every August, business is weak.
00:21 This is believed to be the continuation of the Ghost Month or Ghost Festival
00:25 which, according to the 2023 Chinese calendar, will start today, August 16, and last until September 14.
00:34 This was the consideration of the Filipino Chinese, Mark,
00:38 in opening his second branch of a pet shop in Quezon City.
00:42 We thought, "Okay, let's do a soft opening first, let the shop run, then let's see."
00:46 And then, after August, hopefully this September, we can really open a grand opening.
00:52 It's just a tradition not to open in August, not to order a lot in August.
00:57 That's all. There's no particular belief. Maybe it's just a tradition.
01:02 According to Feng Shui expert and consultant, Johnson Chua,
01:05 the Gates of the Underworld will open at the Ghost Month or Ghost Festival
01:10 where we will visit the souls of our loved ones in this world.
01:16 It sounds a bit ugly, but in reality, it's a good festival
01:21 because it gives them a chance to be happier, to have a much more lively energy.
01:28 And we, as our practice, we do prayers for them, we also do offerings for them.
01:33 In the belief in the Ghost Month,
01:35 the recognition of any change, business, occasion, or relationship is not allowed.
01:42 During the Ghost Month, everyone is there, around.
01:46 Sometimes we don't notice, we might hit them.
01:49 And if they're not happy, they might curse us.
01:54 Other activities like wedding, inauguration, signing contract.
01:58 Because later, we might hit someone and the events might get cursed.
02:03 Then it might not be long-term, but it might be short-term.
02:06 The negative energy in the Ghost Month is also not encouraged
02:09 so that the negative energy from the souls will not be absorbed.
02:13 If the recognition of any change in the Ghost Month is not avoided,
02:19 you can buy the Ghost Month Protector Bracelet, Protection Kit, and Offering Kit.
02:24 Remember, there is no bad thing to believe in, and there is no bad thing that you don't follow.
02:30 What's important is that we have a strong belief in every decision in our life.
