00:23 but this is the awesome Alberta Badlands,
00:26 the mind-blowing backdrop for Red Bull Outliers,
00:29 round four of the FIM Harding-Duro World Championship.
00:33 It's not like any other place, I think, almost in the world.
00:36 It's just these crazy hill climbs,
00:38 and the dirt's basically concrete.
00:40 So if you're not getting up, you and the bike
00:42 are going to have a nasty fall to the bottom.
00:46 The course, absolutely insane.
00:50 How insane?
00:51 Good question.
00:52 But before they even get to the main event,
00:54 riders first have to compete in a Wild West-style prologue
00:58 on the streets of Calgary.
00:59 Only after that do they gallop the steel steeds
01:05 into one of the coolest and strangest settings
01:08 in the series.
01:11 It's a long way from anywhere.
01:13 We're driving through, like, them flat fields,
01:16 and then out of nowhere, you see this, you know, moon landscape.
01:20 You know, you can never get bored of this championship.
01:22 It's just, you know, so varied and so different every time.
01:27 The Outliers Hard Enduro is a one-day, 10-kilometer
01:31 multi-lap race on a track that's unlike anything
01:34 else in the championship.
01:36 So on the uphills, you've got, like, three or four
01:44 different layers, depending on the hill.
01:45 This changes all the time.
01:47 You've got super concrete sections.
01:49 Sometimes that's grippy.
01:51 Sometimes it's not.
01:52 And then if you want to stop anywhere on the hills,
01:55 you literally can't get going again.
01:57 So it's like you've got to get up first time.
02:01 They've gone above and beyond, I think,
02:02 to make us pro riders struggle and probably
02:06 a ton of carnage, because the hills
02:08 that you're just relentless.
02:09 Definitely not easy, because the track,
02:16 there's no time for any mistakes.
02:20 There's definitely no time for mistakes,
02:22 especially in the final brutal extinction loop.

02:27 Oh, Tristan's just had a big, big crash.
02:29 And after 2 and 1/2 hours of full tilt Hard Enduro
02:32 heroics, one rider will stand atop the Outliers podium.
02:37 Last year, Nanny Lettenbichler beat out Canadian Tristan
02:40 Hart on home turf.
02:42 This year, Hart has more at stake,
02:44 hoping to stay ahead of Billy Bolt
02:46 and hold on to second place in the championship.
02:51 It will be Bolt's first time competing at this race,
02:54 and he'll also be fighting against Mario Roman and Graham
02:57 Jarvis.
02:59 Add the rest of the riders to the mix,
03:01 and we have the makings of another awesome Canadian event.
03:05 We're going to have a good crowd there and a lot of Canadian
03:08 fans, because I know that enduro sport is pretty big in Canada.
