00:00 With the last quarter of the year closing in, the Bureau of Customs has sounded the alarm on taking precaution
00:05 when sending balikbayon boxes or boxes of goodies to the country within the next four months.
00:10 Customs Assistant Commissioner and Spokesperson Vincent Philip Maronilla will check the Department of Trade and Industries' website
00:17 on the accredited forwarders, couriers, cargo delivery websites,
00:22 so the boxes that one sends back to the Philippines do not wind up with a cousin or uncle, but to a mom or dad or siblings.
00:29 The BOC also warned to stay off and away love scams that seek to swap packages for cash.
00:35 In particular, the love scam that entices unknowing mobile phone users
00:40 are asking them to shell out cash in exchange for an impending package delivery.
00:45 The BOC urges the public to give them a call once they get a whiff of suspicious or fishy activity.
00:51 Meanwhile, the Customs Bureau touts its 22 ISO accreditations,
00:56 which has godded or galvanized the rank and file forward of efficient public service.
01:02 Please check the DBI website.
01:05 Exercise extra ordinary diligence in selecting consolidators or forwarders to whom you will send.
01:13 We selected those who have a good reputation, experience,
01:19 and you can see on the website of the Department of Trade and Industries,
01:24 a list of accredited consolidators.
01:27 You can coordinate with the Deconsolidators Association of the Philippines or DDCAP
01:33 for their list of members who have a rating and who have their own monitoring of their members
01:42 so we can avoid the issues of sending back boxes that are fraudulent and cannot be sent to our loved ones.
