00:03 Sports press Rick Harrow and some of the $1.3 trillion
00:05 business in sports with your Sports News Minute.
00:08 Been a week since the reaction to the Native American
00:11 Guardians Association's attempt, 80,000 petitions
00:15 to bring back the Redskins name, protect
00:18 the heritage of the history, and talk about cancel culture.
00:24 It's obviously political, but as Josh Harris
00:26 takes over the reins of the Commanders,
00:29 a lot of discussion about what the name should be
00:32 and might be.
00:33 Is it the Commanders?
00:35 Has the brand caught on?
00:36 No.
00:37 Enough to keep it?
00:39 What about merchandise?
00:40 But the bottom line is there is a move to return the roots.
00:44 The issue with the Redskins was not as much the name itself,
00:50 but how it was handled by Daniel Snyder,
00:52 saying never will it change.
00:54 Well, now with an open mind on the stadium, on branding,
00:58 there may be a different outcome.
00:59 Sports professor Rick Harrow, Sports News Minute.
