00:00 The water level in Angat Reservoir continues to fall based on the data of the reservoir.
00:05 Should it be left to the future?
00:07 Jaime Santos is the witness.
00:09 After the next-to-next storm, the hot summer came again.
00:18 Around the Angat Dam watershed,
00:21 there was no rain according to the Hydrometeorology Division of the Reservoir.
00:25 That's why the water level in Angat Reservoir continued to fall.
00:29 It's at 198.08 meters today,
00:33 from 198.42 meters last week.
00:37 If there's no water replenishment in our watershed,
00:42 we will definitely have a record of falling.
00:45 But it shouldn't be left to the future.
00:47 The improvement of the dams is already big when it comes to elevation due to the passing of storms.
00:53 In Angat Reservoir, for example, the water level was raised to 15 meters.
00:59 The so-called rule curve elevation is also higher,
01:03 or the water level that the dams need to maintain
01:06 to perform its intended function,
01:09 whether it's for electricity, irrigation, or drinking water.
01:13 It's still high.
01:15 And lately, there's been a slight to moderate rain
01:21 within the Angat watershed.
01:25 So, the water level is not that abrupt.
01:28 But they are still encouraging the public to save water.
01:32 For now, the low-pressure area that was last seen in the east of Apare, Cagayan, is being monitored.
01:40 It is expected to help in raising the water level in the dams.
01:44 According to MWSS,
01:46 they don't see any water interruption in the lowering of the water level in Angat.
01:52 They say there's enough water from Ipo and Lamesa Reservoir.
