00:03 Sports presser Rick Harra,
00:04 we are Sports News Minute.
00:05 Lionel Messi and the Miami sports scene.
00:07 Now, I grew up in Miami and nearly 100 years
00:11 and I know failures and successes.
00:13 Soccer in the 70s with Pele and Beckenbauer
00:16 and all of them in the North American Soccer League,
00:20 then the World Cup and all the women's excitement.
00:23 Nothing like Messi, his nine goals in the first three weeks
00:27 and then the first cup of any kind by FC Miami,
00:31 a stepchild of soccer until he arrived.
00:35 Couple of issues.
00:36 Number one, it may not be the dolphins or the heat,
00:40 but they've arrived on the sports scene
00:42 in a fairly cynical South Florida audience
00:46 like nothing before.
00:47 And second, there's a stadium on again, off again.
00:50 I know about stadium failures.
00:52 This one was approved but not finished
00:54 and it may be the kick that gives the stadium deal
00:57 an approval finally.
00:59 Congratulations, Messi.
01:01 Congratulations, FC Miami.
