00:00 The most anticipated verdict of the presidential election petition court that began on the 8th of May 2023 has finally come to an end.
00:07 Prior to this verdict, the nation witnessed a rollercoaster ride of allegations, counter-arguments, and courtroom drama
00:14 between the Lega representatives of President Bola Ametinubu of the APC, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP,
00:21 Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and Princess Chi-Chi Oje of the APM.
00:26 We're curious to know what the people thought of these verdicts. Here's what they had to say.
00:30 It's not what we all expected actually, because we don't know who we all voted for.
00:46 People were not surprised of the final result based on how far corruption has deepened and affected Nigeria.
01:00 I'm neither for this person nor for that person. I just want somebody who would do better for us.
01:05 You know the person who came out of his house, the person who sat down for his house, you know for sure.
01:09 So now waiting for that matter.
01:11 I'm very very happy. As things are going higher, my income is also going higher. So it makes me rejoice.
01:16 There's nothing else we can do.
01:18 It's just quite fortunate that we feel cheated, so to say, or some of us feel cheated and we think the justice will not duly be served.
01:30 The same thing that happened at the election, the same thing that happened at the tribunal.
01:34 Case sera sera, what will be, will be.
01:36 The way things are going with our mindsets, I don't think a new Nigeria is possible.
01:41 I would further encourage and advise the youth not to give up.
01:46 To keep on trying, let it come up, let us come into play, let us be involved in Nigeria's government.
01:51 New Nigeria is possible.
01:53 We should look after a month or a year, we should look what is going to happen.
01:58 I would rather take a case study from that of Ocean States. To a reasonable extent, our tribunal can, they can serve some level of justice.
02:10 But we hope from the federal level that a lot could be corrected.
02:17 If it's not corrected, I believe we have a problem with judicial in Nigeria.
02:23 We don't see more of a renewed Nigeria, except the government begin to do otherwise and begin to fulfill its mandates that it has made in its manifesto.
02:32 Now that the tribunal has confirmed the victory of President Bola Ametinubu in whose hands the next four years of our nation lie,
02:39 it is high time for political gladiators and Nigerians to close ranks and work together for the peace, prosperity and progress of this country.
02:48 But what do you think about the results of the tribunal?
02:51 Please tell us in the comment section. My name is Lois Oguniyi for Guardian TV. Bye for now.
