00:00 LGBT and lifestyle YouTuber Callum McSwiggan told police that he was
00:03 assaulted by three men after VidCon on Monday. According to McSwiggan, the men
00:08 broke three of his teeth and gave him six stitches in his forehead. He said on
00:12 Instagram, "The authorities should have been there to help and protect me, but
00:15 instead they treated me like a second-class citizen. I've never felt so
00:19 terrified to be a gay man in the public eye." But West Hollywood police are
00:22 telling a different story. They say they arrested McSwiggan after deputies spotted
00:26 him vandalizing a car. They then took this booking photo in which McSwiggan
00:30 looks fine and with no injuries whatsoever. According to the advocate,
00:34 police then saw McSwiggan injuring himself with the handle and receiver to
00:38 a payphone inside the cell. McSwiggan's friend Riyad Khalif says that he saw him
00:43 crying after the attack. He tweeted, "These people knew where we were going to be
00:47 because of our posts on social media before we went out and even said our
00:50 names as they beat him." Despite this, Khalif says that he got separated from
00:54 McSwiggan and didn't actually witness the attack. McSwiggan tweeted last night,
00:58 "I've been told to say nothing before court tomorrow, but staying silent here is
01:02 killing us. If you're a friend, just DM me for the truth." Most of the commenters
01:06 are going with the police over McSwiggan at this point. Paul Evans said, "I can't
01:10 imagine being so desperate for attention that I would lie about something as
01:14 serious as this. Disgusting." Tyler Coates said, "Khalif McSwiggan is probably my
01:18 favorite Harry Potter character." For more trends like this, go to whatstrending.com.
