07:20 So the Guyana leg of the competition continues and Chumbago Knight Riders,
07:25 are they sitting pretty on top of the standings or the Guyana Amazon Warriors just behind in second?
07:30 Or is it the Warriors Amazon Guyana? I've got to ask John Ramsey when I get him in.
07:35 The field place is the St. Lucia Kings and well, the rest of the pack remains as it is.
07:40 The St. Kitts and Nevis Speedshirts still languishing at the bottom of the standings.
07:45 Speaking of John, I've got John Ramsey with me. Of course, our cricket commentator based in Guyana.
07:51 Is it the Amazon or is it Warriors Amazon Guyana or the Guyana Amazon Warriors, John?
07:56 Hi, good morning James and good morning everyone.
07:59 Well, to answer that quite simply, I was driving around Georgetown yesterday looking for some food
08:05 and everywhere I go, curry chicken is said it's not on the menu anymore.
08:10 Oh dear, oh dear. What a travesty.
08:13 Well, of course, that's a sign that the CPL has moved out to Guyana.
08:18 What's it feeling like on the ground in Guyana with the teams finally arriving?
08:23 Oh yeah, from the arrival of the teams at the Chedi Jagan International Airport,
08:27 there was hype there. Imagine persons, spectators, fans gravitating to the International Airport.
08:34 Where you know airports usually have a big security decor and so on in place,
08:39 but fans somehow managed to find themselves at the airport to welcome their teams coming in,
08:44 taking pictures as far as from where they were to the tarmac.
08:49 So from there, we saw that the hype was there.
08:53 The CPL committee, the Guyana Carnival committee, the government of Guyana,
08:58 they had a welcome at the International Airport for the teams.
09:01 So it was really fanfare to start with.
09:04 And yesterday as the teams settled in, Jamaica Talibos had practice,
09:07 Amazon Warriors had practice, the other teams opted not to practice yesterday.
09:12 A little bit of a down time for some of them.
09:14 Some players did, you know, some personal stuff around.
09:18 But it was really a good atmosphere yesterday as well because the Amazon Warriors,
09:22 they had an interaction for their main sponsor, which is the Amazon Mobile.
09:28 And that was trained with some schools in Georgetown.
09:31 And that really went well.
09:34 And children.
09:37 Well, that's a baby. Yeah.
09:39 The school children and the parents and so on, everyone came out to that event
09:44 and was really well received. The Amazon Warriors felt at home.
09:48 Everyone was really looking forward to seeing their stars, their future stars and so on.
09:52 And it was really something to look forward to.
09:54 While there, the other players from the other teams were mingling around
09:57 and you can see everyone gravitating to them.
10:00 It really is the makings of something spectacular over the next few days in Guyana.
10:06 Yeah, John Ravsing, of course, a very multitasking commentator, analyst,
10:11 and of course, a babysitter this morning as well.
10:13 Now, John, I'm told it's almost a Bethlehem situation in Georgetown at the moment.
10:17 No room in the inn anywhere around.
10:21 You know, what is in terms of the teams that are settling?
10:25 What is the feeling like towards the Guyana Amazon Warriors coming in second on the table,
10:30 playing the least amount of games with a great opportunity at home to perhaps push ahead in the standings?
10:37 One abandoned game, sharing the points there and since then unbeaten.
10:42 And that is like a dream run for the Amazon Warriors coming home.
10:46 First time that they're doing this in the entire history of CPL,
10:50 going on the road, coming home without a defeat and something unheard of really.
10:55 And because of that momentum, everyone in the team, in the camp and so on,
10:59 very positive, very upbeat that with home conditions, now familiarity,
11:04 they can actually remain unbeaten, going to the playoffs in number one spot
11:10 and do as they usually do, go to the final and wait for the opposition.
11:14 And then hopefully this year, there is somehow there's that feeling, James,
11:19 that Imran Tahir, Lance Cruz in the combination can give the Guyana Amazon Warriors
11:24 that victory that has been eluding them for the longest while.
11:28 All right. So, well, you know, John, I'm going to keep you on the line.
11:31 You can go see about the baby for just a few minutes.
11:34 And when we come back, we'll go behind the scenes.
11:37 Before we go behind the scenes and then when we come back, we have chat some more with John.
11:41 A big swing and he's got enough. It's six more.

17:15 I'm told no more curry chicken in Guyana.
17:18 It is now chicken curry as the Guyana Amazon Warriors get set to play on the road.
17:23 John Ramsey, of course, is with me to bring us up to speed of all the development that's happening across on the South American continent.
17:30 And now, John, looking at the Amazon Warriors team, it's been a very good all-round team.
17:36 You know, what has been the highlight moment you feel for the Amazon Warriors so far in this tournament?
17:42 They've been unbeaten so far without a defeat and, you know, just in second position.
17:47 Yeah, I think what happened with the Amazon Warriors this year, they're not too over-reliant on one or two players only.
17:54 So they've managed to spread out their dependability on players with Shea Hope leading the batting,
18:02 Shimonet Myers supporting, Kimo Paul, Romario Shepard, and of course, at the opening, at the top of the order, Sam Ayub, really laying a foundation there.
18:11 So it's really good to see that the batters are putting their hands up rather than depending on one batter like they did in the past.
18:17 And that is really making it a bit easier for everyone in that batting lineup.
18:21 In terms of bowling, we saw what Gordon Cage Moulty did in the last game, defending six runs in the last over.
18:26 So it goes to show that he as well, after a bad start to his spell, came back nicely.
18:32 So they're working as well on their bowling. Romario Shepard, who was trusted before, was just having an off day and was not used.
18:39 So also with the bowling, they have match winners that they're using in various positions.
18:43 Ibram Tahir, despite not picking up the number of wickets that he would love, he's keeping things tight.
18:49 And as captain as well, he's making some very good changes tactically.
18:53 So the bowling has been picking as well.
18:55 But coming home to Ghana can be a little bit tricky because, do remember, Providence is going to be used for the next two weeks, really, of cricket.
19:03 So the wicket that they have prepared, the square that is there, you'll have to be very careful how they manage that.
19:09 So starting, you may find that ball will be coming on a whole lot.
19:13 And towards the back end of the tournament, you'll see spinners coming into their own.
19:17 Last year, it was quite different.
19:20 It was a heavy texture of grass on the sword, making it difficult for spinners to come into their own because the ball was actually just sliding on and not gripping and turning.
19:31 There was bumps, so it made it a little bit tricky last year.
19:35 Let's see what will happen this year.
19:37 I rather suspect it will be the same.
19:39 But whichever way you mention the Amazon Warriors, I think they are well stacked up.
19:43 Yeah, I was just about to ask about the type of wicket to expect.
19:47 You mentioned the spinners coming into their own later in the tournament.
19:51 What about batters?
19:52 We saw some very indifferent pitches around the region, different styles, different types of pitches.
19:57 In terms of batting, what type of wicket can we expect in Guyana?
20:01 Yeah, the ball is going to come on nicely because when I checked, there was a nice layer of live grass.
20:07 And that is going to remain for the tournament, really.
20:10 And that will keep the pitch true, keep it hard.
20:13 And the ball is going to come onto the bat nicely, making it easy for stroke playing.
20:17 As you get towards the end and that grass becomes dead and rolled in and then eventually shaved off, then you might find a little bit of a two-paced track.
20:25 But I'm telling you this, it will not be what you call a feather bed and it will not be a spinners paradise.
20:33 And what about the support in Guyana?
20:36 We saw Trinidad and Tobago packed out by far, the biggest support and crowd so far.
20:41 Guyana, of course, last year we saw hosting the finals, we saw good crowds coming out.
20:46 What's the hype in terms of the crowd and how do you think that will affect the teams?
20:51 Well, judging from the fact that there are no tickets available for the preliminary games and just a few tickets available for the playoffs,
20:59 because persons are waiting to see where will the Amazon Warriors be placed after the playoffs.
21:04 And that's why we have some tickets still remaining at the box office, still some tickets online.
21:10 But season tickets for the regular home games, the preliminary matches, tonight against Jamaica Talos,
21:16 tomorrow against St. Lucia Kings, Saturday against TKR, Sunday against Barbados Royals.
21:21 There's no ticket around. No ticket can be found anywhere.
21:25 And that shows the support by the home fans for cricket, for the Amazon Warriors,
21:30 and I'm sure for the teams coming in tonight, because tonight against Jamaica Talos,
21:35 Brandon King, who was with the franchise a few years ago, is a favorite in Guyana.
21:40 Shivdurai Chandrapala is the head coach of that franchise.
21:44 They have three games in Guyana. Do remember they do not have a home franchise, Jamaica Talos.
21:48 Krish Prasad is the owner of the franchise. He is Guyanese as well. He lives on the west coast of the Mararo.
21:56 So lots to play for for Jamaica Talos and lots of support as well for the Talos.
22:01 And of course, Trinidad and Tobago contingents usually support the TKR.
22:06 There is a big traveling contingent for the TKRs, for the Royals as well.
22:11 Well, I tell you what, songs like a very good party. No room in the inn. No tickets to the ground.
22:16 Just the kind of party. John, send a flight for me. I'll be heading up soon.
22:19 Thank you so much. Of course, our John Ramsinger coming in live from Guyana with us here on the Bull Them Out Cricket Show.

27:00 Get into green with SwimCall, CPL and TKR.
27:04 [Music]
27:20 Well, as the CPL arrives in Guyana, there were some departures from the tournament, particularly for the camp of TKR.
27:27 Let's take a look at some of that.
27:29 Tom, I understand and all of us inside here understand professional sports.
27:34 We understand injuries and you came and you wanted to contribute to our team.
27:39 And you know, in the little time you have been here, you're happy that you could have enjoyed the environment.
27:43 You're going to take back things and I'm sure in the future we're going to see you back in this franchise.
27:49 But in all in all, take care of yourself and make sure that you're fit and firing.
27:53 Because you're going to come out and showcase your talent for the world and hopefully we'll be part and parcel of that.
27:58 You've given your talent and experience runs and wickets in the near future.
28:03 So time to come in and time to push.
28:05 Obviously, it's very disappointing about the knee at the minute, to be honest.
28:09 And I don't know what's exactly going to happen.
28:13 But to be honest, I think I'll probably be going home.
28:16 But yeah, it's just it's been great.
28:20 And so I didn't know if I was to be chatty, but it's pretty obvious.
28:25 But yeah, I wish you guys all the best.
28:28 It's an amazing team. Keep working hard.
28:30 And good luck.
28:33 Thanks for having me.
28:34 I feel like I owe the boys some games and no doubt I feel like this is a special franchise.
28:41 But there's franchises or set ups you're a part of where sometimes you can't pinpoint the things that just tick.
28:49 And like it's the engine room and the passion and the feel.
28:53 The last sort of week has been a really interesting experience for me and one I actually enjoyed.
29:00 To be honest, I've played a lot against a lot of the superstars in our team.
29:06 Spent a lot of time with Polly and I've heard a lot about the guys.
29:09 But it's been really interesting, this team of our that is.
29:13 Yeah, it's been amazing.
29:14 And I really love how you guys analyze things and the hierarchy is really interesting.
29:19 And it's just been fascinating for me, honestly.
29:27 Obviously, we will miss him, but he will be replaced by another Englishman, Samit Patel, who comes into the TKR.
29:33 So he plays his teammate Tom Curran.
29:35 And look at that, the Prime Minister having lunch with Kieron Pollard.
29:40 Sitting at Ram Narain of the TKR.
29:43 So what a touching moment for them.
29:45 Another look at the points table.
29:47 The TKR, well they can afford to have lunch because they sit at the top as they head into Guyana.
29:52 Well friends, that's how we wrap up another edition of the Baltimore Cricket Show.
29:56 Don't forget tonight, the Jamaica Talawas take on the Guyana Amazon Warriors.
30:01 That coverage starts at 6.30pm here on TV6.
30:04 That's it for us. Have a good day everybody. See you later.
