00:00 Hey everybody, Billy Porter here,
00:02 and this is Behind the Photos.
00:04 Here's one of me in London.
00:11 I don't know what that building is.
00:12 It's like a big monkey-monk government building,
00:14 I think, on the bridge.
00:16 And we took over the bridge for some social media content
00:19 for the release of the "Broke a Sweat" single.
00:22 And this is Robert One I'm wearing.
00:24 And I look cute.
00:28 This one is very magical.
00:31 Yes, that is Meryl Streep, Victor Garber,
00:35 and one of my besties, Wilson Cruz.
00:38 And we were all at the New York Public Library
00:41 on Fifth Avenue at the beginning of the month
00:44 for Banned Book Month.
00:45 Victor, Meryl, and I read passages,
00:50 two passages each from banned books.
00:54 And Wilson was on a panel about how we combat
00:58 the ridiculousness of that.
01:00 This is a picture of me and my mom
01:02 at my Black Mona Lisa volume one concert
01:07 in New York City at the Beacon Theater.
01:09 And my mother's disabled, and she lives in a nursing home.
01:12 And this was the first time that she was
01:15 out of the nursing home in almost three years.
01:19 And she was able to come and see my show.
01:22 So this was a very special moment because she was like,
01:26 "I love you and I'm tired."
01:28 (laughing)
01:30 So that's my mom.
01:33 (upbeat music)
