00:00 Former Deputy International Trade Minister Ong Kyan Meng has urged the government to
00:06 suspend the newly launched Central Database Hub or Pardu until all flaws surrounding the
00:11 database hub are resolved. The former Bangi MP pointed out that one major flaw of Pardu
00:17 is the way it collects information. In a statement on Wednesday, Ong also said those receiving
00:22 Bantuan Tunai Rama or BTR will not fill in accurate information as they will have other
00:28 non-tax income such as rental income and land. He said that many users are questioning the
00:33 absence of data in several columns within Pardu. On Economy Minister Rafizy Ramlee's
00:38 statement on X where he said information was not displayed because of security concerns,
00:43 Ong questioned the requirement for personal information if it is already available through
00:48 the ministries and agencies. Ong said there was a major security issue with the registration
00:53 of Pardu as it could be done if someone has the MyCard number and address of the user
00:58 without having to go through the electronic Know Your Customer or EKYC process. He said
01:04 he was highlighting the flaws in Pardu in hope that it will be rectified before the
01:08 next parliamentary seating to prevent the opposition making it a point of political
01:12 debate. Pardu, which was launched by Data Sri Anwar Ibrahim on Tuesday, has been touted
01:18 as the most comprehensive database established by the government, with the system supposedly
01:22 containing detailed individual and household profiles of all citizens in the country. One
01:28 of its primary goals is to help the government deliver targeted assistance.
