00:00 Drug Administration, or FDA, to continue streamlining the country's drug regulatory processes with
00:07 the aim of lowering the prices of true generic drugs and speeding up the process of registering
00:14 new common drugs.
00:16 On veterinary vaccines, President Marcos directed the FDA and the Department of Agriculture
00:21 to address the issues of work delegation in order to approve the necessary drugs for avian
00:28 and African swine flu.
00:31 President Marcos stressed the urgency of veterinary vaccines as this may affect our country's
00:36 agriculture and nutrition needs.
00:39 The President also encouraged the establishment of a "pharma zone" to make the drug application
00:45 process more accessible and efficient, like a one-stop shop, and directed the said agencies
00:51 to focus on amending the Administrative Order 67 from 1989 to look into allowing foreign
00:57 common drugs to come in.
00:59 "I'd like to confirm that the President has directed the Food and Drug Administration
01:05 to further streamline the drug application process in the Philippines and to provide
01:11 further drug accessibility for all the Filipinos.
01:15 And in the future, the cheaper medicine for us to be accessible also to the Filipino people.
01:22 As of now in the FDA, we already had formulated several policies para pumakatulong sa ating
01:30 mga stakeholders.
01:31 And one of that is the Bible of the drug application process, which is the Administrative Order
01:37 No. 67.
01:38 It will pave the way for the application per category so that the stakeholders, the local
01:46 drug manufacturers and the drug importers will have the proper way of how to register
01:51 their products.
01:52 Furthermore, we are already having the policies to lengthen the validation or the validity
02:00 of the license to operate and the certificate of product registration from the initial three
02:05 years to five years renewal.
02:08 And now it will be increased to five years initial and 10 years renewal.
02:13 It will help further the stakeholders for the drug to further their business interests
02:20 and to strengthen the drug accessibility in the country.
02:26 Another is that we are doing the revision of fees for us to be capacitated so that our
02:32 laboratory and testing abilities will be further and be at par with other international regulation.
02:39 Another is that we tackled in a sectoral meeting the possibility or the establishment of the
02:45 Parma zones.
02:46 So ano po ang importansya po nito?
02:49 It will give a more drug accessible to those selected three Parma zones by the PEZA.
02:55 So it will have a role, the FDA will have a role so that pagpasok po ng isang gamot,
03:02 derecho testing, derecho registration para po magkaroon po ng mabilis at malaki ang lawak
03:08 ng coverage.
03:09 Especially those essential medicines like for example the generic drug and antibiotics
03:15 that has been approved by the stringent regulatory authority of the different countries.
03:20 Aside from that, I would like also to confirm that we already talked with the Secretary
03:25 of the Department of Agriculture, Secretary Laurel, that we will have the JAU, the Joint
03:31 Administrative Order, so that the veterinary vaccines, kung alam nyo po kasi it will affect,
03:38 it has greatly affected the meat industry, the supply of the meat industry in the country,
03:43 especially the pork.
03:45 So one of the solutions of that is that we give the Filipino people, the stakeholder
03:53 for the veterinary, yung mga agricultures natin, the vaccine, the technology to stop
03:59 the proliferation of the ASF.
04:02 Thank you.
