00:00The Commander-in-Chief first paid a visit to Air Force Headquarters in Villamar Air Base
00:04where he was briefed on their current activities, programs, and projects to beef up its status
00:09as an ever more capable service branch of the AFP.
00:12This visit comes at reports swirling on the destabilization attempts and the planning stage
00:18that were neither confirmed or denied. As per Alan Francisco Report.
00:22The first event of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. this Monday was the Philippine
00:30Air Force Command Conference at Villamar Air Base in Pasay City.
00:34In this conference, according to PCO Secretary Cheloy Garafil,
00:38the Philippine Air Force shared with their Commander-in-Chief their activities,
00:42plans, and projects. Thus, the President also provided his guidance on certain proposed
00:48programs of the Air Force to further enhance its defense of the country's sovereignty,
00:53territory, and development. Meanwhile, his next event was presiding over the swearing-in
00:59of around 40 top armed forces of the Philippines or AFP officials at Malacanang in the afternoon.
01:12In his message, the Commander-in-Chief emphasized to the AFP officials
01:16to remain faithful to their sworn duties to the nation and to the Filipino people.
01:21The additional stars bestowed upon the officials serve as a reminder of their heavier and more
01:48challenging responsibilities. Among the 39 newly promoted military officers,
02:0220 are from the Philippine Army, nine from the Philippine Navy with nine also from the
02:07Philippine Air Force, and one from the Chaplain Service. President Marcos hopes the additional
02:12stars conferred to the newly promoted officials will serve as inspiration and motivation to work
02:18harder to fulfill their duties.
02:49Loyal to our country and mindful of our conscience. He also extended a congratulatory message to the
02:56new AFP officials, acknowledging their accomplishments and proven service.
03:01If any, the stars on your shoulder do not just indicate rank, but the reminders of the
03:07responsibilities, added responsibilities that you now have to carry on those shoulders.
03:14The more stars there are, the heavier the responsibility. Be mindful always of the
03:20weight that that carries. After all, the load that you feel are, in fact, our people's hopes.
03:28Especially now that we are at the juncture of our history where our nation faces complex security
03:34challenges, the response to which requires bold thinking, brave action, which I know
03:39you can supply in abundant amounts as befits your rank and you can summon from your previous
03:46experience. Alan Francisco from the National TV Network for a new and better Philippines.
