00:00Doing your own thing, separate from the rest of the family.
00:02Yeah.
00:04As you look back on that now, how does that feel?
00:06And how do you feel about moving forward?
00:09What are you excited about with your music coming up?
00:11It's been really cool to take a break.
00:13I think we, Reed, Neil, and I have traveled together
00:15since I was 15.
00:16Reed was 10.
00:17Neil was 8.
00:18It's a long time to kind of be with each other,
00:22but also live one identity as siblings.
00:25And then over the last couple of years, I've gotten married.
00:28Reed is married.
00:29Neil's engaged.
00:30And so I think a break in the space has been really nice.
00:33Of course, I've left calling all the shots for like two
00:36seconds with my solo career.
00:38I also miss playing music with the boys.
00:41It's what we've known since we were kids.
00:43So I think the cool thing about music these days
00:46is you can go in all of these different directions,
00:48do what you love, and let it all fall
00:50under the umbrella of Kimberly and the Band Perry,
00:53Kimberly's solo music.
00:54So you never know what's right around the corner.
00:56What's coming up for you that you're excited about?
00:58What's that?
00:58So I've just begun to write for the Next Wave of Music.
01:02And the CMT Next Women of Country Tour
01:05that I'm getting to headline this year
01:07kicks off in August.
01:08But tickets are on sale now.
01:09So are you coming?
01:10You've got to come.
01:11I'll definitely be there.
01:12Come on out.
01:13I love the Big Story of the Women of Country Music.
01:14Absolutely.
01:14Do a little two-step.
01:15And it's going to be really fun.
01:17I'm a mentor for this year's class of Next Women.
01:20And they're just an amazing bunch of gals,
01:22bringing a few of them out with me.
01:24What is your number one piece of advice that you tell them?
01:27I always say, pace yourselves.
01:30It is a roller coaster ride, this journey
01:32of professional music, when it goes
01:34from being just like your passion
01:36to also your profession.
01:38And it's like, look, there are some of the highest highs.
01:40And there are some really difficult lows.
01:42But it's your lifetime.
01:43And so it's just about pacing yourself and enjoying
01:46every moment as much as you can, but not getting
01:49bummed in the low moments.
01:51Because those have come to pass, too.
01:53They'll move on.
