00:00This is a good year for Florida taxpayers.
00:03The budget I signed last week spends less than we are doing in the current year.
00:07Not many places are reducing spending around the country.
00:11We're also accelerating the repayment of our state debt.
00:14We now have the lowest per capita state debt anywhere in the United States, and we're running
00:19a massive budget surplus, one of the largest in the history of the state of Florida, while
00:24also delivering $1.5 billion in tax relief to Florida families.
00:30This is the second largest package that we've ever done in Florida history.
00:35We have our back-to-school sales tax holiday, our disaster preparedness tax holiday.
00:40July is Freedom Month, where you have outdoor recreational items largely are tax-free, and
00:46we even have a tax holiday on the purchase of tools.
00:49We have $500 million for the reduction of taxes and fees that affect homeowners' insurance
00:56policies, and we have a 50% reduction in tolls for the second year in a row for Florida commuters.
01:03That's almost a half a billion dollars.
01:06So this is a strong tax package, and I thank the legislature for coming through, and I'm
01:11happy to have signed it into law.
