00:00It's really interesting that you talk about the the air and the ability to cool the plane
00:04So you essentially are describing a situation where it is so hot on the ground
00:09That the planes need more thrust to get off the ground
00:12So certain runways certain planes may not be able to get off the ground
00:16But in the meantime, they need to be able to get off the ground in order to kick start the AC
00:22It's oh my goodness. And it's not really interesting is as a traveler
00:28I always know to look out for rainstorms and thunderstorms, you know
00:32If I have any control over my schedule
00:34I look at the long-range forecast or as long as it's available when I'm booking and I try to plan around that
00:40But what you're saying is effectively that travelers should be looking at temperatures too as they're considering their travel
00:47well all air, I mean
00:49There's a tip that I give everybody and people don't like it, but all year long
00:54But especially in very hot weather in thunderstorm weather
00:59Hurricane season in the winter when you're flying, you know for your ski vacation
01:04Take the first flight if you can possibly get on the very first flight
01:09take the first flight at if it's 530 in the morning or 6 in the morning get on that flight because
01:15The problems just get worse as the day goes on and that's because of the way the airlines use their planes
01:21They don't just you know, say let's say you have a situation where one plane is flying
01:26from Miami to
01:28Charlotte and then it's going to go from Charlotte to Chicago and then it's going to go from Chicago to Dallas all in the same
01:35day
01:36Let's say the first flight gets off fine. And that second flight is delayed
01:41Well, guess what the third flights delayed and the fourth flights delayed
01:45So the longer you wait in the day the more chance you have of that domino effect
01:50bumping into your flight and that is
01:54Particularly true in places the expert that I spoke to dr. Bob Thomas at Embry-Riddle
02:01Aeronautical University in Daytona. He was saying, you know, he's in Florida and they have thunderstorms in the summer every afternoon
02:10so
02:11You know
02:12I mean just the odds of you running into trouble in flying in the afternoon out of Florida is higher
02:18Than if you flew out in the morning
02:21So that's one tip I always give just that if you're worried about delays if you really need to get somewhere
02:27Don't take an afternoon flight because you're you're kind of rolling the dice
02:32And then like you you're smart to to track the weather
02:38you there's a an app I love called flight aware and they have a feature called find my plane and
02:45That can tell you about the situation I just described where let's say you're you're supposed to be on the Chicago to Dallas flight
02:54You can see uh-oh
02:56That's like made it to Charlotte and then was delayed
03:00So, you know ahead of time that there's a problem. You might be able to
03:05Get on a different flight change your plans, you know
03:08You can kind of you get have a little bit of a crystal ball that you can
03:14Anticipate that there's trouble ahead and maybe you know, sort yourself out before it even gets to you
03:23Let's say that one more time. Is that find my flight or flight aware or both?
03:28The app is called flight aware
03:30But the feature is called find my flight and you basically plug in your you know
03:36Your details of your flight your flight number and it will just tell you where the plane is, right?
03:41It basically finds the plane
03:43And that's kind of more important, right?
03:46like so even before the airline will alert you that the flight is going to be delayed you can see on
03:54This app that there's a good chance that it's not going to get there on time
03:58And I mean, hopefully you can make some adjustment to your plans
