00:06to return the huge deduction to their monthly pension and the rank demotion to their families.
00:13According to retired ensign Carlito Ravirez,
00:16the morale of almost 2,000 retired officers of the PCG has dropped
00:20because of the implementation of a law that did not go through the right consultation.
00:26Josefina Robero, the wife and mother-in-law of one of the retirees,
00:31explained the implementation of the Luterte Administration,
00:34Section 18 of the Republic Act 9993,
00:37which obliges retirees to pay their pensions.
00:41This is contrary to Executive Order No. 475 and 477
00:46passed by former President Fidel V. Ramos
00:49which states that no one can change or reduce the pension of retirees.
00:54As of now, they are deducting from their monthly pension of Php 8,000 to Php 12,000
01:00which they have been holding for more than seven years.
01:03The PCG retirees are once again asking for the President's approval
01:07to pay attention and resolve their call.
