00:00So we do it, you mentioned was it France and Germany getting ready to go head to head coming
00:08up here in the Olympics and of course point differential will matter here.
00:13Who are you giving the edge to?
00:14Look at this number.
00:15We're talking 33 and a half, 34.
00:18Now we got three and a half.
00:19How competitive is this game going to be, you think?
00:23So after France barely beat Japan in overtime, I was like, I want Germany for this next game.
00:30And then the line came out and it was like minus two and a half.
00:33And I didn't think they were going to be favored because the game is in France, you know, like
00:36this is the thing.
00:37And now I'm kind of like, oh, this might be a stay away for me because Germany is favored
00:44against France in France.
00:45And it's like, all right, is France a team that we've seen that kind of struggles offensively
00:49and, you know, defensively, at least in the backcourt, they kind of struggle or have we
00:54just not seen them really pop yet?
00:56Now we haven't seen it really in the world cup last year.
00:59They didn't have Victor Wamba Nyama and they were a team that could have won the world
01:02cup.
01:03Like they were good enough to do that.
01:04And they were the first team eliminated because it just flopped the first two games.
01:08And then this year in the scrimmages leading up to this, they lost like four straight and
01:11they didn't look great either.
01:13So maybe this is who France is.
01:14And if this is who France is, then yeah, I like Germany because internationally, like
01:18they figured it out.
01:19They got it together.
01:20They were the world cup champions last year, despite having the eighth shortest odds and
01:23looking like they weren't going to be past the quarterfinals team.
01:26And they ended up beating everybody.
01:28They went 8-0.
01:29So I would lean Germany here or nothing.
01:32But if this is the game that France finally puts it together, then everybody has to watch
01:37out because it will have mean that they beat one of the best teams in this tournament and
01:40win the group.
01:42Let's double down to, by the way, an hour and a half later from now, we do have another
01:45men's basketball game on deck.
01:47That's Spain and Canada.
01:48When you take a look here at Canada, about a 10-point favorite at the FanDuel Sportsbook
01:51and a total of 169.
01:52Brian, give us a quick little addition here.
01:54Spain-Canada.
01:55What can we anticipate?
01:57This is not an especially great Spain team.
02:00That being said, it wouldn't surprise me if they beat Canada because Canada, they have
02:05these sort of drop-offs.
02:06Like, they're super talented, but they haven't been together as long.
02:10They're a poor man's version of Team USA, honestly, in terms of like, they have like
02:14top-end talent.
02:15Shakey Alexander is their best player, and some would argue that he's better than everybody
02:19on Team USA.
02:21I probably wouldn't, but some would argue that he is a top-five player in the NBA.
02:25That I can probably agree with.
02:26You have Jamal Murray coming off the bench, who hasn't really played that well yet.
02:30You have RJ Barron, who's actually playing really, really well.
02:33This is a legitimate team, but Spain does have some cohesion.
02:38They did get a surprising win earlier against Australia in this group.
02:45I think it's entirely possible that, no, not against Australia, that they beat Greece,
02:51but I think it's entirely possible that Spain could win this game because they do still
02:55have their discipline, their ball movement.
02:57They're a big team, right?
02:59And Canada doesn't have a lot of great size on this team.
03:03Like, Dwight Powell is one of their best bigs.
03:06Kelly Olunek is still one of their best bigs and their team captain.
03:08So I think Spain could win this game, but this, to me, is another stay away because
03:14do I trust Canada to put the foot on the gas when they kind of don't need to?
