00:00how did France ride the host nation bump to a gold medal game a five-point
00:10outright upset over team Germany 73 69 Victor women Yama was good 11.7 boards
00:18and three blocks but how about Grisham Yama Selly is having himself an Olympiad
00:24to remember a team-high 17 points and Isaiah Cordonnier 16 points as well I'm
00:31trying to do my best French accent here on the show on the early line Germany DRS
00:36entering the game not just a five-point favorite against the French but a minus
00:40160 favorite to win the silver medal the crowd was electric in Paris and France
00:46rides all of that energy and momentum to a gold medal game against the u.s. yeah
00:52you would have probably got a pretty good punch regardless of who actually
00:55showed up in the gold medal game against team USA but the fact that it is the
00:58France team which means the French are gonna have that crowd packed in there
01:02they're gonna be chanting as if it's a soccer game as if today a major
01:06tournament in that respect and they will certainly be hunting and also well
01:10they're underdogs they can't win this did you check the last two games there
01:13were underdogs in both of those games and played well and rose to the occasion
01:16and held off the favorite teams we're not saying they're supposed to beat team
01:20USA because it's been pointed out to 16-point favorite we also saw Serbia as
01:24a decided underdog take team USA to the wire we always talk about the NBA
01:29playoffs and how they're set up where the cream rises to the occasion why
01:32because there's seven game sets here which means it's hard to beat the better
01:36team four times if you're not the truly better team in a one-game environment
01:40all it takes for one guy to go crazy one guy to go nuts Steph Curry to go one for
01:44nine from three-point range as opposed to nine for 14 and you can hang around
01:48in this game we're not expecting team USA to lose this game but certainly
01:52it's not a foregone conclusion even if you go back to those international
01:55friendly games in the showcases you still saw some of those other teams that
01:59weren't supposed to be in the same planet as team USA give them some issues
02:03down the stretch so it's not a foregone conclusion but it does look good for
02:06team USA but a great stage tomorrow as we take a look at 330 in the afternoon
02:11that house is gonna be rocking
