China condemns pager explosion in Lebanon

China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Fu Cong has strongly condemned the communication device attacks in Lebanon that killed at least 32 people earlier this week.  The envoy described the attacks as "indiscriminate" and a "grave violation of international humanitarian law,” while also calling for an international independent investigation.   #China #Lebanon #UN

00:17And we strongly condemn that.

00:19And we urge an international independent investigation.

00:23And we also see that the situation in Lebanon is still very volatile

00:31and there seems to be an escalation.

00:33And we urge all sides to exercise restraint

00:36and we particularly urge Israel not to escalate the situation further

00:41and stop the bombing.
