00:00A good start to the year was received by the number one team in the PBA Commissioners' Cup Season 49
00:07by North Port Batangpierre.
00:10That's the center of the news of teammate Rafael Bandairel.
00:16It seems that there's no one who can stop North Port Batangpierre
00:21from advancing in the Season 49 PBA Commissioners' Cup.
00:26They are leading in the standings of the current conference
00:30with a score of 7 wins and 1 loss.
00:33The head coach of Kuponan, Bonny Tan, admitted
00:36that he was surprised by the pace of their campaign.
00:41Before the start of the conference, our objective was to get to the quarterfinals.
00:48Now, we're discussing also to lessen the pressure.
00:52Although we're on top right now, our target is the best of three.
00:57If we don't achieve the top position in the standings,
01:03at least we're in the middle of the best of three.
01:07After the best of three, we'll discuss the twice-to-beat.
01:12Last Wednesday, North Port defeated Barangay Ginebra San Miguel 119 to 116.
01:19This is their first win against the Gine Kings in five years.
01:23According to Coach Bonny, it's proven that Kuponan is one of the best
01:28in the title contenders in the current Commissioners' Cup.
01:32Everyone's questioning about the status of the team.
01:35We're one of the big teams.
01:38I hope that with this win, we prove that we're here to win games.
01:45We're here to be competitive, not just a team.
01:51For the Swingman, Joshua Munzon, their mentality is one-game-at-a-time.
01:57We don't want to go too far ahead.
01:59We just want to focus on our next game.
02:02I know our next game is back-to-back.
02:05We're at 13, 14, and 16.
02:09I know that's going to be a pretty tough back-to-back for us.
02:13But we just want to focus on the first game.
02:15We don't look too far ahead.
02:19We're just going to go game by game, pretty much.
02:21North Port will try again on Tuesday, January 14
02:26because they will face Mayor Alcobolts.
02:29That game will be held at Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Malate, Manila.
