00:00Autism is a neurological condition that starts from childhood.
00:16It has a bad effect on a person's verbal or non-verbal communication, imagination and social interaction.
00:23A study shows that one in every 36 children in the country is suffering from autism.
00:29The number of boys is three times more than the number of girls.
00:33But even today, there is a lack of awareness about autism in the society.
00:37To raise awareness, World Autism Awareness Day is celebrated every year on 2nd April.
00:45It has become one of the world's fastest-growing developmental disabilities.
00:51One in every 36 children is suffering from autism.
00:55But the level of awareness in the society is very low.
00:59This is their biggest problem.
01:01We will understand their problems only when we get to know them.
01:04This is our aim, our organization, Support Foundation for Autism.
01:08Our aim is that the society and especially the bureaucracy,
01:12who want to do some work for them, to provide some facilities,
01:16should understand the problems of these children with autism.
01:19And the various departments that are associated with them,
01:22should make a strong plan for them to work in education, medical, employment, etc.
01:32These children do not lack in ability.
01:35They just need an opportunity and understanding,
01:38through which they can get acceptance in the society.
01:41Autism activist Pratibha Bhatnagar says that if such children get an opportunity,
01:45they can set an example.
01:47Her son, Akshay Bhatnagar, is also one of them.
01:50He is the first autistic worker in Rajasthan.
01:53Not only this, Akshay has also earned national and international recognition
01:57through his talent in the country and abroad.
02:01There was a time when I took some of his videos.
02:03He used to speak a lot, he used to speak very well, he used to express himself very well.
02:07But when he turned 12, his parents struggled.
02:10Now he is at home again.
02:12Because there is no such vocational setup for our children.
02:17We can send them directly to colleges, but there are some challenges for them.
02:21So, I would like that the main challenge for the adults is that
02:26there should be a proper vocational center under the guidance of special educators.
02:31The IQ of the children is very good, they should get proper training,
02:34and then gradually they should be taken towards employment.
02:37They have the right to be employed and they have the skill.
02:40But because there is a lack of these resources,
02:43our children, because they cannot mix up with all these children,
02:47they get separated somewhere.
02:49Shiven has also started speaking very little now, he feels lonely.
02:53So, I think that those children who grow up for autistic adults,
02:57the government should do something, or some private organizations,
03:00that there should be some such vocational setups.
03:02We can get the children trained in it and give them proper placement,
03:07which is within their caliber.
03:09If we talk about Rajasthan, then according to the government figures,
03:127,753 children are affected by autism.
03:16In Jaipur, their number is the highest.
03:18Here, the figure of these children is 755.
03:21In such a situation, it is necessary that the society should give their full support
03:25and opportunity to identify and develop these children.
