00:30And leaders of the BRICS group are holding a virtual summit to address the effects of
00:37the U.S. Starry Force.
00:43Hello, welcome from the South, I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Derezu Studios in Havana, Cuba.
00:48We begin with the news.
01:00In Argentina, with over 90% of the votes counted, the opposition coalition for Zapatria wins
01:07with a wide advantage of 13.08 points over the far-right wing alliance Libertad Avanza in
01:13Buenos Aires provincial elections.
01:15On Sunday, 23 provincial senators, 46 provincial deputies and their alternates were elected
01:21to renew half of the legislators in each of the two legislative provincial chambers.
01:25Municipal authorities were also elected in 135 municipalities of the province of Buenos Aires.
01:30The opposition coalition led by Governor Axel Kisilov obtained 47.20% of the votes, while the ruling
01:37party obtained 43.86%.
01:39The Sunday's elections in Buenos Aires were key for the upcoming national legislative elections
01:45on October 26th.
01:46A message, after what happened here, whose reading we cannot exaggerate, because they themselves
02:10have to rectify the course.
02:11What a triumph of theirs, of our government, in the province meant.
02:20They are going to have to rectify the course.
02:25They are going to have to rectify the course.
02:29The ballot boxes told President Milley that public works cannot be stopped.
02:42The ballot boxes explained to him that retirees cannot be hit.
02:52The ballot boxes, with a 13-point difference, explained to him.
03:01New Argentine President Harry Milley confirmed the defeat of this party.
03:07What we have to be clear about is that, without any doubt, today we have had a clear defeat
03:14in the political sphere.
03:16And if someone wants to start to rebuild and move forward, the first thing to accept are
03:22the results.
03:23And today, the results have not been positive, and we had an electoral setback, and we have
03:28to accept it.
03:29On Monday, Citizens in Buenos Aires reacted to Sunday's key election results.
03:35Until I saw the results, we didn't know what to expect.
03:42We didn't know what was going on with the people, with the nation, whether they still
03:47supported this government and its policies, or whether they wanted this to end.
03:51And this at least gives us hope that things will improve, because the truth is that we
03:55are in a very bad situation.
03:57I think things have to change, because we really can't go on with this president.
04:03I mean, he's very perverse, I think, and he causes a lot of pain to people.
04:08People can't live in anguish, they have to move forward, they have to have hope.
04:12Tiene que poder avanzar, tiene que tener esperanza.
04:15And the Argentine stock exchange on Wall Street plummeted Sunday after the electoral setback
04:20of Libertad Avanza led by President Javier Mollet.
04:23Argentine stocks fell by up to 15 percent, which represents a country's risk exceeding
04:28a thousand points.
04:29Faced with uncertainty over the continuity of the economic program promoted by the Argentine
04:34President and Economy Minister Luis Caputo, the Argentine market reacted harshly, impacting key
04:40companies, such as Transportadora de Gas, Loma Negra, and Central Puerto.
04:45The Galicia Financial Group and BBVA Commercial Bank lead the losses, with figures reaching double-digits.

05:37drone resources will be deployed to coastal riverine and border regions.
05:42Padrino López also stated that the military reinforcement will cover the states of Zulia, Falcón,
05:48Nueva Esparta, Sucre, and del Tamacuro, as well as the eastern regions of the country.
05:53This measure aims to strengthen national sovereignty and combat illicit activities, such as drug trafficking,
05:59amid the interventionist deployment of the United States in the Caribbean.
06:06And also on Monday, the Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino provided an update on the Armed Forces
06:12security operations within the national territory.
06:14This way, Padrino highlighted that more than a ton of drugs has been seized and several individuals
06:19and vehicles used by criminal groups have been neutralized as part of the ongoing anti-drug
06:24trafficking operations, underscoring there have been no casualties to mourn during these actions,
06:30which highlights the training and effectiveness of the nation's officials.
06:33Moreover, Padrino assured that the Venezuelan people are on permanent alert against this and any situation
06:38that could threaten the security of the country.
06:41The Defense Minister alerted that Venezuela is a victim of the armed groups located along the Colombian border
06:46and condemned the imperialist Western media for telling the world that these groups come from Venezuela.
06:56And on Monday, leaders of the BRICS group are holding a virtual summit convened by Brazil
07:01in response to the West's illegal actions on trade issues and to discuss the effects of the U.S. tariff war.
07:07The meeting is attended by the Presidents of Russia, China, Brazil, and South Africa, as well as India's Foreign Affairs Minister.
07:14Brazilian President Luis-Nasro Aceva sought to mobilize the BRICS group in defense of multilateralism
07:20and a more equitable economic order.
07:22In the face of unilateral coercive measures, leaders are expected to discuss ways to strengthen the bloc's economic sovereignty.
07:31This includes reforming the World Trade Organization and considering a proposal to create an alternative currency to the U.S. dollar.
07:45In Nepal, the Kathmandu police fire on protesters demonstrating against the government's social media blackout on Monday,
07:51killing at least 10 people and injuring dozens more.
07:54The situation in the South Asian country heated up following statements by the opposition against the government's ban on Facebook
08:00and other social media platforms that violated the regulations of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
08:06The measure came after an order issued by the Supreme Court, which instructed the government to ensure that all online and social media platforms
08:13registered officially before operating in Nepal.
08:16Despite facing criticism from the country's opposition, the government maintains that a stricter regulation is essential to stop harmful content.

10:27The first action is the urgent approval of a royal decree law that legally consolidates the arms

10:44the legal and permanent prohibition of buying and selling weaponry, ammunition and military

11:48They also denounced the lack of international action in the face of the crimes perpetrated against
11:52unarmed civilians, the murder of journalists and the humanitarian crisis used as a weapon of war
11:58against the Palestinian people.
12:00They also urged the Swedish government and the international community to act to end the genocide,

14:18with hundreds of people seeking refuge in temporary centers.
14:21Guangdong Province, located near Hong Kong, has halted some train and ferry services ahead of the storm.
14:28Also in China, Typhoon Tapa, the 16th of the current season, may landfall this Monday in the southern Chinese province of Canton
14:39as a strong tropical storm.
14:40The observatory forecast that the phenomenon would move the northwest at about 20 km per hour
