00:00So Tony, your character is a transformist
00:05There is no spoiler in this question
00:07It reminds me of Charlotte, Charlie Chaplin
00:11So where did you get the inspiration from?
00:16You know, I read the first book before getting into the show
00:20And so Trenton Stewart, who wrote the book
00:23Gave a really beautiful and specific foundation for these characters
00:28So I, and then as I was doing the show
00:31And kind of seeing this world that a lot of the artists created
00:34It's a very beautiful, whimsical world of the show
00:38So then I just kind of adapted
00:40Like Benedict's a little quirkier
00:42He's very kind of, people have said it's a little Willy Wonka-esque
00:47That character
00:48And then the other character, Curtin
00:50I didn't want to make him such a kind of the villain
00:52I wanted to kind of, you know
00:54I think the key is to find parts of myself in these characters
00:57Because in that way, I can hopefully bring a little more humanity
01:01To these characters rather than just, you know
01:04Characters, if that makes sense
01:06This is a series about a special group of kids
01:09And their special skills
01:11But also about which is the right behavior to pursue in life
01:16So what is your favorite statement of the series?
01:21Woo!
01:22That is a tough one
01:25There are so many parallels to what's going on with the show
01:31And on in the world
01:32There was one line where Rainey, the lead character
01:35Says, he looks at the newspaper and he says
01:37Is it always bad news?
01:39And I'm like, oh my gosh
01:41That is, I feel like that's been this past year
01:44And what's, to me, what's special about this show
01:46Which I'm very excited about
01:48Is these kids use, their superpower
01:51Is their intellect, their creativity, and their empathy
01:54And I think those are superpowers
01:57And those are superpowers that can really bring change in the world
02:01So I do hope that people and kids can take that away
02:05Honestly
02:06And as I said to the actress before
02:09What I love about the pilot
02:11Is there is no space for the bully in this series
02:15Yeah
02:15And I really love that
02:17Yeah
02:18It's a, yeah, good vibes, you know
02:20It's good vibes
02:21And it's also, I think if there was a bully
02:23It would probably be the noise in society
02:27All the kind of, you know, the chaos that can happen around us
02:31And how the truth hopefully rises above that
02:35When you were a kid
02:36Did you ever dream about to be part of the superheroes, you know, squad?
02:44Oh, no, but I always wanted to wear a cool suit
02:46I think, I would, I mean, that would be so fun
02:50And of course I dreamed about that
02:52But I think, like, kind of back to what I said
02:54Those, those kind of superheroes
02:56I always, I loved it
02:57But I always knew in my head, like
02:59Well, like, I don't have those superpowers
03:01I don't have that
03:02But what's cool about this show is I hope these kids can watch this and go
03:06I do have that superpower
03:07I do, I can have compassion
03:10I can have empathy
03:12I can use my intellect
03:14And it's like, yeah, we all got that
03:16If we choose to use it the right way, you know
03:19So be normal is the new special
03:22Yeah, exactly, right
03:25Something like that
03:25Totally, yes, totally
03:27I love that
03:29But if you could choose a superpower
03:31Which one would be
03:32I would say, oh man
03:36People always say flying
03:38But I have a terrible fear of heights
03:40I really hate heights
03:42So I don't, I can't do that
03:43I think there's something about
03:45I always thought Iceman was cool
03:48Of just like, zoop
03:51And just like make something ice
03:53It's just like an instant ice cubes for a cocktail
03:56I like that
04:01And I like that
04:03So I think it's like, yeah
04:04I think that's what I'm doing
04:06It's just like a little bit of a cocktail
04:08But I have a little bit of a cocktail
04:08I like that
04:09I love it
04:10I like that
04:11But I like that
04:12I like that
04:13And I like that
04:14I like that
04:14I like that
04:15And I like that
04:16And I like that
04:17And I like that
