00:00It's Nick Casario, his exit presser with the Assembly Media, and the parting shot is the one that rings the loudest here, John Lopez.
00:08How would you describe what he said?
00:10Because, I mean, basically my takeaway was that him and D'Amico Ryan, he said that they don't sit around in their office thinking that the offense isn't good enough.
00:18Yeah, look, just when you thought you couldn't get more frustrated, you get more frustrated.
00:23Or that the offense is not a concern.
00:24Yeah, well, I wrote down the quote right here.
00:27He said, D'Amico and I have never sat in our office and said our offense is a concern.
00:31There it is.
00:32We've never sat in our office and said our offense is a concern.
00:38What?
00:39The offense?
00:40And my three big takeaways, and look, we're probably going to wad up the old rundown and just dig in on this because Texans fans are so adamant about this and frustrated with this.
00:52I got more frustrated.
00:53How can you say that?
00:54And the other thing that was really interesting, well, first, the newsy aspect of the media availability he had.
01:01Nick Caley is coming back.
01:03Nick Caley is going to return.
01:06It's something that he said I would anticipate him coming back in 2026.
01:10Yes.
01:11And then he was asked to, like, on the backside to kind of follow up.
01:14Shout out to Jonathan Alexander.
01:15Like, is that is that something that is kind of a given or basically and he's he basically doubled down on it that, you know, him and him and D'Amico talk frequently because D'Amico did say that he would take the week to evaluate.
01:28And he said he did not feel like he was speaking out of school.
01:30So, in a way, kind of utilizing D'Amico and saying, yeah, I think that we're in lockstep and that Nick Caley will be your offense.
01:37Quote, I anticipate Nick being here next year.
01:39Yeah.
01:39That's the general manager saying that.
01:41That's something that I think is going to be a big, big concern for a lot of people, a big, big frustration for a lot of people.
01:49But the our offense is not a concern is nuts.
01:53And then the other thing, what is the biggest story of the 2026 Texans offseason by pretty much all accounts?
02:00It's C.J. Stroud, how he fits into this offense, his frustration, his deteriorating performance, et cetera.
02:07And he deflected, I think there were four different angles, maybe five different ways that the media in that availability tried to sort of approach the C.J. discussion.
02:20And every time he went to, it's all of us, it's the team, we all need to get better, look at his body of work.
02:28All right, let's look at his body of work.
02:30Because he kept saying, well, you know, if we didn't, C.J. won the game basically against Kansas City.
02:35Cool.
02:35And he did.
02:36His body of work goes back three years.
02:39How has that body of work tracked?
02:41How is it tracked?
02:42In what direction is C.J. Stroud's body of work?
02:45In what and when the games are the biggest with the playoffs, obviously, what what are the most two recent samples of that?
02:53So it's I didn't think I could get more frustrated with how this offense, how they approach C.J. Stroud, how they're going to go into the offseason with with him being the most important part.
03:03You know, everybody's important.
03:05And it's offense, it's defense, it's special teams.
03:07This is true in a macro sense.
03:09But everyone knows the most important player on the team.
03:12And that is the quarterback and this body of work.
03:16The game or even the last 10 or 12 games that he played, well, 10 of the last 12 games that he played, you go back to C.J. Stroud at large, his body of work has tracked straight downward, straight downward.
03:30I quibble a little bit with that, but the larger premise, I think, is important, especially when you talk about, you know, evaluation, which he did in there.
03:39And he was saying, you know, you have to take the whole body of work.
03:42Well, I think there's a lot of people in our listening audience that in their various different jobs have to try and figure out how to project.
03:48Projection is difficult.
03:49Don't get me wrong.
03:49I recognize that.
03:51But I think there's a lot of people who have done it.
03:52And you recognize that considering the whole body of work is necessary.
03:56But that is also not just what you do.
03:57I think that trends also are important and where is the trend and why have you gotten to the trend?
04:02There was not enough, in my estimation, consideration for the whys of various different things, at least in the way what I heard from Nick.
