Senators Risa Hontiveros and Pia Cayetano debated proposed amendments to the Anti-Hospital Detention Law during the Senate period of amendments on Wednesday, June 17.
Cayetano raised concerns over the proposed removal of the promissory note requirement, which has traditionally served as a guarantee for the payment of hospital bills incurred by indigent patients. Hontiveros, the bill’s principal author, responded to the proposed changes as deliberations on the measure continued.
