00:00All of you have, actually. Chris Wright, please.
00:02Yes, thank you, Mr. President.
00:04So, 120, 141 years ago, Albert Einstein, 121 years ago,
00:12Albert Einstein published a paper on the photo...
00:13Nobody cares.
00:16Good point, good point.
00:17I never go back. I just...
00:19And usually they won't catch you, but then...
00:21Go ahead.
00:21Published a paper on the photoelectric effect,
00:24recognizing the quantum behavior of light,
00:27that it came in quanta.
00:29Forty years after that,
00:31President Trump's uncle, John Trump,
00:34was a pioneer in applying light radiation
00:37and the reflections of it to develop radar
00:40at the MIT Radiation Lab,
00:42critical in D-Day,
00:44critical in the end in winning World War II.
00:46That's the parallel of quantum innovation.
00:49Forty years after that,
00:51John Martinez, down there,
00:53pioneered taking quantum effects
00:55and building them into a device
00:57to capture that behavior.
01:00He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics
01:02just last year for that discovery,
01:04that breakthrough.
01:05But 40 years,
01:07quantum phenomena are tough to harvest
01:09and tough to work with.
01:10But here we are,
01:11thanks to President Trump's leadership
01:12in the first term with Director Kratios
01:14to launch a major national effort on quantum.
01:18This is taking it to the next level.
01:20The future of computing
01:22is going to be a three-legged stool.
01:23It's high-performance computing,
01:25basically Moore's Law
01:27and semiconductor manufacturing.
01:28It's artificial intelligence
01:30that everyone's seeing and hearing about
01:32that's supercharging it.
01:33The third leg of that computing stool
01:35is going to be scientifically relevant
01:38quantum computing.
01:39This is tricky.
01:40We're not there yet.
01:42We're close.
01:42But with this executive order
01:44and this coordinated effort,
01:46we will have scientifically relevant,
01:49meaning error-corrected,
01:50quantum computing during this administration,
01:53the impacts of it will be tremendous.
01:56Just if I might,
01:58so with respect to the strait,
02:00Hormuz Strait,
02:03a lot of oil pouring out, right?
02:04A lot of oil pouring out.
02:06Despite Iran's efforts or pushback,
02:08we are flowing oil
02:09through the strait of Hormuz
02:11and natural gas at pre-crisis levels.
02:13We could get to above that.
02:15We will get to above that.
02:16But things today are going very well.
02:17Thanks to the U.S. military
02:19and Pete Hegseth down the line here.
02:22And two days ago,
02:23we set a record,
02:25most ever taken out of the straits.
02:27Pent up, but it's a record.
02:29Did you know of my uncle at all?
02:32No, no.
02:33You didn't?
02:33No.
02:35Sorry.
02:35I don't.
02:36You missed a good bit.
02:38Would you like to...
02:38Berkeley and MIT.
02:40Oh, but MIT's fine.
02:40I want to say something.
02:44Howard, you want to say something?
