00:12Hi, I'm Erin Featherston. We're here today to do our initial casting, and we can have a little sneak peek
00:18at the collection.
00:23It's really about a very red-blooded female, like someone who's just real and alive and passionate.
00:32Something I'm really excited about this season are all the prints that I'm working with.
00:36Floral is so traditional when you're thinking about romantic feminine clothing, but I really felt like this kind of bold
00:43photographic element was a really modern way to do it.
00:46I've been kind of experimenting all morning with placing these flowers.
00:51I kind of want some sort of organic, blossoming effect happening.
00:56I love this sweater. It's sort of like that Christmas morning feeling because we really do have the bulk of
01:02our samples, and they're done.
01:03Julia is sort of the inspirational heroine behind this collection, and I wanted to sort of reinvent her and think
01:10about who is the modern Julia, and what would she be dressed in?
01:20I actually really feel like having a lot of girls who have something striking or unusual in their features, someone
01:28who's a little quirky or a little bit off.
01:30I always really factor in personality and spirit and attitude into the casting. I want girls who, you know, have
01:36substance.
01:37Cool. Thank you.
01:40Really big buzz around her, that last girl. She's amazing.
01:44We're here with Daniel Petal. He is doing my casting.
01:48Doing a little something different this season, but still very much Erin's style girl.
01:53Fresh, modern, a little bit of an edge, playful, whimsical, but maybe a little darker this season, a little maybe
02:01moodier.
02:02Come sit right here.
02:06Okay, Bruno. Just stand over here for me.
02:09Poison your tears.
02:15I'm doing, no, okay minors, okay plus, yes.
02:21This is a brand new girl, Victoria. We really liked her.
02:26Okay, Victoria, stand over here for me.
02:30Hi.
02:32Becca, is this your first season doing shows?
02:34Okay.
02:38I like to come up here and just kind of, you know, clear my head.
02:42It's good to take a little break and breathe the clean New York air, I guess.
02:48I just moved to New York from Paris.
02:51It's like an exciting new world.
02:53And I love showing in New York the energy, you know, people are excited.
02:57I really think New York is kind of the city right now for young designers.
03:02The industry here is just being very proactive to nurture its young.
03:06We've taken huge leaps and bounds in and around moving here.
03:11It's kind of been that big step from what was sort of a homemade beginnings to the actual beginning of
03:19a true fashion brand.
03:35Oh, mean bird, what's the word? Are you still your mother's child?
