00:08I didn't really seek out fashion design or clothing making particularly. I just
00:14kind of stumbled upon it.
00:21My name is Allie Golden. I am a designer. I moved up to San Francisco because I got
00:27a graphic design job here. At that point in my life, being in front of the computer all
00:32day long was really difficult and I was really craving using my hands.
00:43I got this opportunity to have a studio in a really cool part of North Oakland called Temeskul.
00:51When I started the line, I wanted to create like really wearable separates, something not too
00:56precious. That was really easy to work in and play in.
01:03But you know, I think if I didn't move into that studio, it would be very hard to have been
01:07inspired
01:08to keep going because it's just such a wonderful community of people. It's grown from, you know,
01:14four and a half years ago to this great vast community of all different types of makers.
01:22Oakland as a community is like the whole reason I exist and has been an integral part of what I
01:28do.
01:29It's all about Oakland. That's why I'm doing what I do. I love living here and making stuff here.
01:34we're doing what you're doing now.
