00:04So I have three co-workers here who each have very different skin tones, but one very common problem,
00:10which is the difficulty of finding foundations at the drugstore that match them.
00:13I got three foundations from the drugstore that I personally really like,
00:16that I think you might be familiar with, and I'm going to help my friends get color matched.
00:22We both know that it's really hard to find drugs or foundation that matches.
00:26What would you say is your biggest problem?
00:28My biggest problem is that I'm pretty pale and sort of neutral toned,
00:32and I have a lot of trouble finding drugstore shades that match without being able to test them all.
00:37A lot of them turn out too yellow on me or just too dark.
00:40It's just a little bit too yellow or too pink, and it dries out my skin a lot.
00:44Especially being someone obviously with brown skin, the choices are just a little more limited.
00:49So when I'm going in, I'm having to scour the shelves to look for something that'll match my skin tone.
00:54And you don't have the option of trying on, which makes it even harder.
00:56I got a few foundations for you.
00:59So we have a warmer skin tone.
01:01But if you guys don't know how to figure it out, you can test it really easily.
01:05And I like to call it the vein test.
01:07Depending on what color your veins are, that will help you determine your undertone.
01:11So my veins are kind of blueish and greenish.
01:15If you have blue veins, it means that you kind of have a rosier, pinker undertone.
01:19If they're green, you have more of a yellow base undertone.
01:22If you have a mixture of the two, you have a more neutral skin tone, which means you can kind
01:26of get away with wearing either kind of foundation.
01:29Mine are definitely on the green side.
01:31So you definitely have more of a yellow undertone.
01:34So you might want to gravitate toward more yellow, less pink foundations.
01:38You have a lot of green here as well.
01:41I think that you obviously know that you like yellow foundations already.
01:44So we should try to test these out.
01:48Let's start with the lightest one.
01:49This is Ivory.
01:50I think I'll go with the darker tone first.
01:52I think I can use some of these to sort of blend out and lighten them to match me.
01:56So most people think that you can swatch your foundation on your hand and you're good to go.
02:01That's not always the case.
02:03You know, different colors of our skin, on different parts of our body.
02:05So I always think that if you want to get a true face and neck match, you want to do
02:10it on your jawline here.
02:12Yes.
02:13Perfect.
02:13And then do it to the next foundation you have.
02:18And then you do it to the last foundation.
02:22So let's see if we blend them into your skin.
02:25What kind of effect that has.
02:27You're going to want to go with the foundation that just disappears into your skin.
02:31Okay.
02:31It looks like I don't even have any makeup on in this second one.
02:34Exactly.
02:34I think that might be the winner.

02:36The warm nude beige.
02:38I think this one's working best.
02:40It's blending in really nice and it's light.
02:40The one that's blending into your skin right away.
02:42The other one was a little bit too Ivory and the other one was too dark.
02:44I think that beautifully bronze shade is a pretty good match for you.
02:48Yeah.
02:48I think this is my match.
02:49I'm pretty excited about trying it out.

02:51I'm excited to see what it looks like because it'll give us a better picture.
03:01How do you like it?
03:02So I really like this because it's really lightweight.
03:04I've been using the same makeup since high school.
03:07And so it's kind of nice finding like a new foundation that's blending with my skin.
03:13Feels light and not too heavy.

03:19Does she need foundation?
03:20No.
03:20Now that I have a drugstore brand that's a pretty perfect match honestly.
03:25I think I could try doing drugstore foundations and concealers.
03:29It's sort of the one thing I've stayed away from in the drugstore realm where I love mascaras.
03:34It's really blending into your skin really well.
03:36What are your overall thoughts?
03:37Would you purchase this foundation?
03:39Yeah, I think it's a great substitute for what my higher end powder would be.
03:44It's definitely cost efficient.
03:46It's under 10 bucks.
03:47And what's so great about it being such an affordable foundation is you can buy a few and
03:50you know throughout the year if you need to color match, if you need to mix the foundations,
03:53it's really easy to.
03:55You can just put it on the back of your hand a few pumps.
03:56Yep.
03:57If you're feeling like it's a little bit too light or too dark, you can add a little bit
03:59more of the darker shade, the lighter shade, so it's really nice to be able to customize
04:03your foundation in a way that isn't going to like totally break the bank.
