00:00Yikes!
00:03Today, we're going to be comparing the straightening brush, which is taken over the social sphere
00:07by storm, and compare it to the classic flat iron and see how both of them hold up.
00:12Ready to get started, Kayla?
00:13I'm ready.
00:14Let's do it.
00:14It looks pretty legit to me.
00:16It's hot, which I wasn't expecting.
00:18I didn't think it would get as hot as a normal iron.
00:20Most flat irons are usually about an inch to, at most, two inches wide, so this might
00:26actually cover more ground in a lot less time.
00:29All right.
00:29Should we put it to the test?
00:31Let's do it.
00:31Let's do it.
00:32I think I need to, like, section this off a little.
00:35Ooh, yeah.
00:35This is cool because I don't need to brush my hair out first.
00:40I can just go right in.
00:41Ready?
00:41I'm ready.
00:42Let's do it.
00:43Let me just start the bottom.
00:45Ooh!
00:46Mmm.
00:48It's working!
00:49I kind of wish I had this when my hair was still, like, super long and it would take me
00:54two hours, at minimum, just to straighten my hair.
00:57Yeah.
00:58I'm liking it so far.
00:59Holy moly.
01:00This is...
01:00A little frizzy there.
01:02But I like it.
01:03I feel like this would actually make me more willing to straighten my hair more often.
01:08It's a little bit tricky up at my scalp to kind of, like, just, like, hold it there.
01:13It's not perfect, but it's working pretty quickly.
01:18So now that we got a feel for how this brush sort of glides through our curls and makes life
01:22easier, let's see how it stands up to the flat iron.
01:27Introducing the frizz.
01:30Oh.
01:31I should probably work from the bottom up because that's the easiest way to get rid
01:34of knots.
01:35I should've worked from the bottom up.
01:37If your hair starts smoking, that's a bad sign and you should probably turn down the heat.
01:42So that way, your hair doesn't go up in flames.
01:45I like the smoke.
01:46It makes me feel like it's working.
01:48Yeah, that's what I usually think too.
01:50I'm like, it's working!
01:51It's working!
01:51With any hot tool you're working with, it's best to keep it at 350 and below to reduce
01:57the amount of damage your hair takes.
01:59Obviously, you can't tell now with this, like, chunk of frizz, but I will say I'm seeing,
02:03like, a big difference between this straight and this straight.
02:07This is a nicer straight, but it's definitely more time consuming.
02:13Finished product.
02:15I think there's a huge difference, as I'm sure you can tell.
02:18After seeing the difference with the straightening iron, it definitely gets a nicer straight.
02:24And besides, how else can you knock a little wave into your ends than with a good flat iron?
02:30It definitely took a long time with the iron, but in the long run, I think it would be worth
02:34it because it's more, this is more of the outcome that I'm hoping to achieve when I straighten
02:39my hair is the iron side.
02:41So there you have it, two really capable tools that work well.
02:44If you like them, give them a try.
02:46Thank you so much for watching and we'll see you next time.
02:49Bye.
