00:01Everybody has their own reason of why they're living.
00:07You know?
00:13I just happen to wanting to live like Beyonce.
00:23When I was 22, I was a struggling beautician.
00:29I worked at Supercuts.
00:31I tried. I tried to be a regular person.
00:35I used to make $500 maybe in a week and a half, if that.
00:40And I had to really work my ass off.
00:42You think I can actually be a millionaire like that?
00:45No way. I need other source of income to make this happen.
00:53When I got in the adult industry,
00:55it really taught me what sales are all about,
00:58what customer service is all about,
01:00what marketing is all about.
01:03It gave me what I needed.
01:08Most people know me by Nadia Ali,
01:11but my name is Oney Malik.
01:13Oney here to slay.
01:16I created this business to get my identity back.
01:19Back to who I truly am.
01:26Why do I care about people's brows and lashes?
01:28That's the first thing you look at when you look at somebody's face.
01:31You look into their eyes.
01:34It's really important.
01:35That's the first thing you see.
01:42I'm still on my nightlife job.
01:45If I want to see my business doing numbers,
01:48I don't really have a choice about my nightlife.
01:52It takes tremendous invisible balls to do what I do.
02:00It's time to smile.
02:01So you gotta leave your baggage at the door.
02:05Every girl in there has ass.
02:08It's a fun place to be.
02:10But for dancers,
02:13it's a football field.
02:19I'm gonna be frank with you.
02:21It's fast money.
02:24My stripper income is anywhere from $8,000 to $18,000 a month.
02:34It's very easy to get trapped in this lifestyle.
02:38The friends that I have in the nightlife,
02:41we all want to use this as a stepping stone and then move forward.
02:49Two years ago,
02:50I came out with a documentary from Refinery29.
02:55I'm a practicing Muslim.
02:57Sure, I have conflicts between my faith and my day-to-day life,
03:02but doesn't everybody?
03:03It was touching for some people,
03:05and for some people,
03:06they didn't want to talk to me again.
03:10I just believe all publicity is good publicity.
03:14See, look, Kim Kardashian,
03:16she had her sex tape out.
03:19Is she complaining today?
03:20No.
03:21Can I?
03:22No, not at all.
03:23I think it worked in my favor.
03:25Paxton did not ban me because I did porn.
03:29They banned me because I wore the scarf
03:32and their traditional dress in the adult scenes.
03:35The honest truth is I didn't want to wear the hijab in the films.
03:40That outfit that I wore,
03:42that was a custom outfit made for my feature dance.
03:45I usually don't wear that.
03:47But the agencies were like,
03:49if you don't bring any type of politic, religion, controversy
03:54to the adult industry, it's hard to book you.
03:58I regretted it before I did it.
04:01I regretted it during the time that I was shooting,
04:04and I regret it now.
04:06But I can't erase my mistakes.
04:09I did what I had to do to get to where I am
04:12so I can be who I want to be.
04:20Four, three, two, one.
04:26Go girls!
04:27I love my hyperland.
04:29Okay.
04:30That documentary was a huge impact to my family.
04:34Aww.
04:36My mom and dad very upset.
04:39It hit them in the heart.
04:42Very personal.
04:44Why'd you do the documentary?
04:46Nobody forced you to.
04:49My mom, she was just not having it
04:51because she has a strong Islamic belief.
04:55Even though I hurt her,
04:56it also brought us closer
04:58and a better understanding of each other.
05:02I turned 27.
05:05I feel brand new again.
05:08You know, I feel like as you get older,
05:10you feel like you're getting your years back
05:13that you didn't get to utilize the proper way
05:16in your early 20s.
05:18I'm still a modern Muslim.
05:20You know, I'm not a perfect Muslim.
05:22I should pray five times a day.
05:24I don't.
05:25God holds a very big weight on my life.
05:30I always want His forgiveness
05:32and to forgive this world.
05:34I feel like if it wasn't for God,
05:38how would I have hope
05:40to wanting to do better?
05:42I feel like we're going to do better.
05:44And follow us again,
05:45Bye-bye.
05:48Who do you love?
05:49Who do you love?
