00:04on potentially joining the Big Ten.
00:07It would be the first Big Ten school with a flag in the state of Florida
00:11and in that Miami market, plus the money that's now being generated.
00:16Good move or bad move for Miami if they were to think about joining the Big Ten
00:20because let's take a look at some of those teams that have joined the Big Ten.
00:23Hasn't been that great for Nebraska football-wise on the field.
00:26So maybe financially it's been good, but at the end of the day here,
00:31I mean, would this be a good move for Miami?
00:33Absolutely.
00:34I think it would be a slam dunk if it happens for Miami
00:36because you're talking about going from a conference
00:38that isn't giving you a lot of money to begin with,
00:41with a deal that's already ancient now with ESPN and ACC,
00:45to a conference that hasn't made.
00:47And we've all heard the rumors about the SEC and the Big Ten going off
00:51and doing their own thing.
00:52You want to be part of that.
00:53You don't want to be in the leftover part.
00:55Now, is the ACC going to survive?
00:56Is the Big 12 going to survive?
00:58You have those conversations every year,
01:00but you don't have the conversations if the Big Ten and the SEC are going to survive.
01:03Now, is it harder for Miami to win in the Big Ten than the ACC?
01:07To be honest, Dan, they're not winning the ACC.
01:09They've never won the ACC.
01:10So it's not like being in the ACC has helped them at all.
01:13If anything, I think joining the ACC hurt them.
01:16They were better as an independent.
01:17You can't do that nowadays if your name's not Notre Dame.
01:20I think you go to the Big Ten.
01:21I think Miami's just different than a Rutgers or a Nebraska or those programs.
01:25Miami's an institution.
01:26I know Nebraska was an institution back in the day, but it's different.
01:30You get Big Ten money in an area like Miami with recruiting and NIL and everything you have.
01:36And I think Miami's right there in the Big Ten again.
01:39They're not winning the ACC.
01:40This might be the first time they win the ACC, but we've said that for 20 years.
01:43You want to be where the no-doubt success money is.
01:48The Big Ten and the SEC are going nowhere.
01:50Like, they're going to be the cream of the crop forever.
01:54You can't say the ACC and the Big 12 are always going to be there.

02:14You want to be in the Big Ten.

02:19Now, if you had asked me 10 years ago, I might have said, nah, bad move.

02:23Stick to where you're at.
02:25But if you have a chance to join the two power conferences that are going to be the future of
02:29this sport or whatever the next version of the sport is, you do it.
