00:00well we got to begin with the roman empire he made his debut in portland uh as a rehab assignment
00:05uh and in his uh first game hit a dinger hit an absolute bomb uh we can hear from roman

00:11after the game yeah um i think just today as a whole it felt good to uh be back on
00:17the baseball
00:17field and go through regular baseball activity and um just be out there with a great group of guys
00:22i've gotten to play with some of these guys and just to see them and you know see the fans

00:27out and the staff here it's uh it's been great this is a special place to me and um great
00:33to come
00:33back here and be with these guys you've hit some big home runs professional baseball um obviously
00:37you've out the worcester home run the 497 feet and then spring breakout game but given kind of you've
00:43been away for a while how how nice is it to be able to hit a ball at the ballpark
00:46in an actual game
00:47yeah um felt great kind of just like that stock standard first day back where you're not really
00:53you know you're just kind of going out there and then playing like a kid again so it feels good

00:57uh you know after that first at bat got a little comfortable um and then you know open it up

01:02a little bit um you know after that after that second i bet um knew i was feeling pretty good

01:07just again felt great to be out there all right all right i mean he's gonna be coming back making
01:13his way back if he can play back-to-back games look out see if he's back there in portland

01:18what a swing he has though you can tell why he's just like natural when he hit that home run

01:43city they won their game last night against the diamondbacks uh and it has been a a big two days
01:49with the jimmy fund mickey gasper uh was a hero in the game last night was on base four times

01:55that game including a home run talked about what the jimmy fund uh meant to him here was mickey gasper
02:00that's what it's all about uh the jimmy fund is so special to me it's just uh just warms my

02:05seeing all those kids every day and uh you know these three games are awesome because it really like
02:10i said last night it puts a lot of things in perspective and you know it's just uh it's very
02:14humbling to be able to come out here and you know for them to have fun and and you know
02:19enjoy
02:19a night at the ballpark when they're fighting the real fight really said what what a great day
02:24at fenway great two days you go two and oh so far in the series the third game of the
02:29set is this
02:30afternoon at four o'clock here on ei but you get back-to-back wins at home you get right

02:35the rough road trip and you raise 7.1 million dollars for the jimmy fund and thank mickey gasper the
02:40red sox players were great on this radio station they were great with the kids on the field
02:46awesome awesome couple days at fenway park and the red sox should be very proud uh lou was tweeting
02:50out during the game after the mickey gasper home run that he thinks he could be the kind of
02:55replacement for yoshida uh going forward as like a potential left-handed dh bat uh you know i guess
03:00until roman anthony kind of comes back do we feel okay about that i mean after last night you're pretty
03:05happy with mickey gasper yeah stick with the hot hand i mean i what i guess so if roman anthony

03:10it'll be the 28th is that the beginning of the set the weekend set in the bronx the red sox

03:14with the yankees so maybe between now and then i think i think we'd all be perfectly fine with that
