00:01Today at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park we're at our Red River Hog exhibit where
00:05we're looking at our two week old new piglets. These are Red River Hog piglets.
00:10We have two males and two females. They were born on March 27th about 2 o'clock
00:15in the afternoon so lots of people ride around when they were being born and
00:18they're very precocious when they're born. They start running around right away
00:22and looking pretty cute. So at this point they're still nursing for mom. They
00:26weaned at about between two and four months but they're very busy, very
00:30active. They're in here with their parents Goldie and Mowgli and their big sister
00:34Lozie who was born last year and it's all very active family. Red River Hogs are
00:39from West Central Africa and they live in areas that are highly vegetated and they
00:45like to swim and wallow and we give them wallows here and they wallow around in
00:49the mud and they dig burrows during the day and kind of huddle in and they're
00:54very active at night as well as in the daytime. At this point they're all over
00:58everything. They're very curious about everything. They're into everything. They're
01:01climbing around all the rocks and the mud and playing with anything they can
01:05find in the exhibit. All kinds of different things that would give them
01:09for enrichment. They're checking everything out.
