00:05The 25-year-old who was born in South Africa, later became Miss Universe Nigeria 2024,
00:10is challenging authorities' decision to declare her a prohibited person and pursue her deportation.
00:16As citizenship has been disputed since 2024 Miss South Africa Perjance,
00:21when questions emerged over her nationality and her mother's documentation,
00:25Adesino eventually withdrew from the competition amid intense public scrutiny
00:29and later moved to Nigeria, where she won the national title.
00:32She returned to South Africa this year and was arrested in June over allegations that she had re-entered the
00:38country unlawfully.
00:39She was subsequently released on warning while a legal battle continued.
00:43Speaking outside court, Adesino maintains she was born in South Africa
00:48and has followed the legal channels to resolve her citizenship status.
00:51She has also warned against xenophobia and misinformation influencing the case.
00:56The latest court proceedings have now been postponed with the matter expected to return in February 2027,
01:02while a separate high court review of our immigration status is considered.
