00:00I think it carries weight, from the perspective of a former high-performance athlete.
00:10Because I'm also sharing a bit of my story and experiences within judo.
00:14And from everything I experienced in competitions, in the Olympic Games, Pan American Games, South American Games.
00:22So, I think it's important to report this and have it documented.
00:26But, once again, I think what's even more important is being able to bring in the people who were part of this journey.
00:35Coaches, friends, and even rivals, all contributed greatly to our ability to reinvent ourselves.
00:43and overcome it, rebuild yourself.
00:47So, I think it's a book that ends up being a documentary, a biography that remains as a document.
00:54And I believe that humanity, that's what it is, right?
00:58From time to time, we discover new dilemmas within our society.
01:04It's a time when we need to slow down, sit down, breathe, so we can discuss these issues.
01:09In my case, in '96, it was something that had a huge impact both within the sport and in society as well, right?
01:18It was widely discussed.
01:19Today, we realize that this debate still exists, right?
01:22In other areas, right?
01:25Regarding transsexuality, right?
01:27And other issues also related to genetics.
01:29And I think that's the process.
01:31It's about sitting down, breathing, right?
01:34Bringing all social classes together to discuss and see what the best solution is, right?
01:40The best decision, because I think that we, as human beings, right?
01:46We have to welcome them, right?
01:48And avoid creating social bubbles, right?
01:51I think the confederations, the federations, right?
01:55They also need to raise awareness among athletes, especially about the new issues that are emerging.
02:02So that a scapegoat isn't created within the sport, right?
02:06Within the sport, right?
02:09So that sensationalism doesn't arise, so that nothing happens, right?
02:12That's a weak point there, isn't it?
02:16Some adversary, some ill-intentioned politician, could use that to further radicalize the discourse, right?
02:25So, it's our role as citizens, right?
02:30And our role, both within and outside of sports,
02:34To raise that flag so we can, you know?
02:36Bringing people together to discuss issues and arrive at the best decision.
