00:00So let's go into the standings right now. Do you believe the Rays and what they're doing? I mean, it's
00:05hard to believe here we are on August 22nd and there are three games up, two games up right now
00:11in the American League East. Can they hold the Yankees off?
00:15You know, ultimately, I think they can hold the Yankees off. The Yankees are red hot right now. And you
00:20got to give credit where credit's due, because ultimately, this is the team that even post trade deadline, the bats
00:25just weren't working, right? They sent down Jason Dominguez, Helio Ramos, who they brought up to really contribute offensively in
00:33any regard, has been basically a black hole. Ben Rice had really struggled for a month, really just almost two
00:40months, even prior to the trade deadline, he was struggling.
00:42And they have still figured out how to win ballgames, because that bullpen and clutch spots has come up huge
00:48time and time and time again this season. And that starting rotation and you have to throw Ryan Weathers in
00:54the mix there, who's pitching a day for them. It's just been incredible. And that's what they're paid to do.
00:59That's why it's a high dollar starting rotation. This is the type of production you expect. I tend to think
01:05that the Yankees have the most sustainable, consistent winning when you're talking about winning the games that they should.
01:10But I think that the Red Sox and the Rays even have more upside in terms of kind of winning
01:15against the best teams in baseball. So those are the two teams that I'm actually peeing in on with that
01:19race.
01:21Boy, if you're going to look at the American League for managers of the year, you'd probably say Kevin Cash
01:25went to Tampa Bay Rays, but you'd have to say also the guy in Chicago,
01:30Venables, and what he's done with that baseball team. Here they are in the Central Division.
01:34I thought this was going to be another hundred loss baseball team that you had there in the Windy City.
01:40But the Southsiders, these guys are getting it done. Are you buying the White Sox?
01:46I'm a big believer in the White Sox, and I have been for about, you know, I would say about
01:50mid-May is when I jumped on the bandwagon with the White Sox.
01:53Because Miguel Vargas, he was a black hole, you know, coming into the year. He wasn't really a good player.
01:59He still isn't a good player defensively, but offensively is one of the best third basemen in the entire sport.
02:05Colson Montgomery has emerged. They've gotten the most out of Randall Grittrick.
02:09Munitaka Murakami is a true, true superstar.
02:12And they're getting a lot of this rotation that a lot of people coming into the year with the absence
02:17of Shane Smith,
02:18who's only been in AAA to start the year and was an all-star two years ago.
02:22So, all of a sudden, you know, we're talking about a team that has really revamped their image.
02:27And now they're calling up Hagen Smith. They're calling up Tanner McDougal.
02:31They have Anitachi in the lineup. A lot of their top prospects, Braid Montgomery, is another great example,
02:36making plays defensively, offensively.
02:38This team is in a legit World Series competitive window.
02:42And they were a team that was projected in the bottom three in the American League.
02:47Incredible story. I think it's one of the, I think it's the best story in baseball right now.
02:51And ultimately, they are legit, especially going into the postseason,
02:54with how many arms that they keep kind of throwing into the mix here.
